The Evil Within 2 surpassed my expectations. As someone who wasn’t fond of the first title in the series, I was impressed by the changes Bethesda made. Sebastian’s second dip into STEM has an interesting story, wickedly creative villains, and a tense atmosphere despite its open world. However, there are some gameplay issues that will irritate you to the end. Even with these issues, The Evil Within 2 is a terrifying experience that will keep any horror fan satisfied until the very end.

When Cuphead was announced, I was extremely excited for it. When they disappeared for a few years, I couldn’t help but feel nervous for the end result. When I loaded it up and saw the adorable figures and listened to the vintage soundtrack, I immediately had a good feeling. And when I died the first twenty times and then finished the first boss, I knew I was playing something special. Though it is intensely difficult, it’s also an incredibly rewarding experience.

If you fall into the category of gamers that think EA simply puts out the same games every year, Madden NFL 18 isn’t drastically different enough to warrant buying at $60. It’s in-game and online struggles will frustrate, especially having to deal with EA’s Origin system. Additions like Longshot and the three new plays styles should at least warrant renting Madden NFL 18 or buying it at a cheaper price. In any case, it’s still Madden, so you’ll still have fun, until you get picked for the 10th time in the quater.

Verdict: If what you’re looking for is a fresh take on the classic Baldur’s Gate-style isometric RPG, you will adore this game. If you’re used to more fast-paced RPGs, you might get frustrated with Pillars of Eternity. This game exists to scratch a very specific itch and is unapologetic to those who don’t know what they’re getting into. For fans of the genre, Pillars is a rewarding fantasy epic.

Violations first step outside of the Saints Row genre is a valiant effort, but certainly a misstep. While it contains a colorful cast of witty and unique characters, it fails to innovate or improve upon anything that’s been done before. If you’re a fan of the Saints Row series, you’ll probably enjoy Agents of Mayhem for its call backs and similarities, but may tire of its repetitive nature after a short time period.
