Death Howl is a game unconcerned with spectacle or obvious appeal. Like any great soulslike, its best aspects exist in its finer details. It exists less asa collection of systems and more as a feeling. Like a slow, cold exhale over a campfire in the dark whispering you to let go of your assumptions and gather around, because it has a story to tell. And oh boy what a story it is!

Goodnight Universe is a game that made me acutely aware of my place in the world, and in the lives of the people I hold dear. It was a game that made me think and feel, that made me laugh with joy and amusement as often as it made me cry like a, well…baby.

EA Sports FC 26 finally delivers responsive controls, smarter AI, and gameplay that feels like actual football after years of mechanical issues. Ultimate Team remains a grind-or-pay proposition, but the core experience is solid enough to overlook its monetization problems. This is the best entry in the series since the gameplay overhaul began.

Deep, complex RPG skill trees and tight first person shooter gameplay, held up by a well-executed open and a well-told story that’s bogged down ever so slightly by performance issues and bad UI design. If you have stomach for the latter, you’ll find a lot to love in Borderlands 4.
