The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile is all about the combat. This is a refined version of the first title, with better dodging, more varied and entertaining enemies, and the same over-the-top violence that defined the original. The repetitive level design can become mind-numbing in any sort of prolonged session, but the excellent combat is enough to make it worth playing if you’re looking for a good character action game.

Chime Super Deluxe takes the idea of a platform specific re-release and does it right. While the price is double that of the original, Chime Super Deluxe more than makes up for it with gameplay that's more refined, twice as many tracks, and multiplayer support that works surprisingly well. It's a great game, and a great deal.

But with the crowds in these arenas audibly reacting to the hairs-breadth play that makes the professional game so exciting, Top Spin 4 really does come closer than any tennis game to date when it comes to capturing the real essence of one of sport's most graceful games. There's a way to go before match point is won by a virtual tennis game, but Top Spin 4 is definitely a couple of sets up, at least.

Dynasty Warriors 7 is one of those games that really only appeals to a certain niche of gamers. And that’s totally fine. Dynasty Warriors fans are going to find a whole lot to like with Dynasty Warriors 7, including an expansive set of options that will keep players busy for a very long time. But for everybody else, playing Dynasty Warriors 7 will be a chore. The gameplay is repetitive and boring, the aesthetics are bland, and the story -- while interesting and chock-full of characters -- can be hard to follow and bogged-down by melodramatic delivery. In other words, those who are already into the Dynasty Warriors franchise will love Dynasty Warriors 7. Everybody else should stay away.

These moments would have made me more angry, but really, most moments in Rush'N Attack: Ex-Patriot feel the same whether you've actually played them yet or not. Ex-Patriot is a drab, boring example of the dangers of nostalgia-mining down an unstable shaft. It plays badly, it looks dated and its design is uninspired and boring. Rush'N Attack: Ex-Patriot feels like an aimless stab at cashing in on the successes of its peers, and looks worse for the comparison.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12 doesn't play much different than last year's game, but the additions of a more fleshed out career mode focused around the long-awaited Masters Tournament and a caddie system that welcomes new players round out the game more. All three versions are great, so you can't go wrong with whichever you choose. I prefer the PS3 version because of it's balance between the motion controls online play. If it featured disc golf like the Wii version it'd be the premiere version of the game.

Shift 2 Unleashed's a violent and immersive racer that recreates the driving experience like no other game on the market. In doing so it builds well on the first Shift's foundations, benefitting from Slightly Mad Studios' more refined touch and the inclusion of Autolog, but its handling is still too loose and its steps forward too small for it to truly beat Gran Turismo and Forza – although it does enough to ensure that it's pulled ever closer.

Tomb Raider Trilogy is a handy collection of three recent Tomb Raider games, two of which have been given a graphical boost and take advantage of the PS3's capabilities. Tomb Raider Anniversary and Tomb Raider Underworld are both fun games and combine immensely enjoyable platforming and some neat puzzles with mediocre combat. But Tomb Raider Legend just doesn't hold up. I'd even recommend skipping it, though you do miss out on a few cool scenes if you jump straight into Anniversary.

In an age where everything is capable of online play, it just doesn’t make sense for a franchise famous for its cooperative play to be single player only. Still, it’d be a great distraction for kids, who are less likely to be annoyed by the repetitive level design.

I love the concept for Combat of Giants: Dinosaurs. It's brilliant. I wish the game lived up to that though. More varied gameplay, a longer career that got challenging, and multiplayer are all sorely missing. There are three save file slots though, so if you can find two friends to split the cost, this game is humorous enough to play for an hour. I hope we see another Combat of Giants game because I'm confident the developers can deliver the game I like on the 3DS.

Rayman 3D was once a brilliant game, but it's showing its age. And without any real improvements to the gameplay or the visuals, it feels old. The entire time I was playing, I felt ripped off. I'd been suckered into thinking I would be getting something new and dazzling and instead, I ran into the same problems I had 11years ago. Don't bother with this rehash on 3DS.
