I know I'm omitting a ton from this review - there's so much to the design that it's impossible to list everything there to experience. What I won't forget to mention: Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars continues GTA's legacy as the premiere "sandbox" game design. Though it might look like a lot has changed in the move to the handheld platform, more has been added than taken away - there's so much to do in this Liberty City, and it's hard not to be impressed and amazed at some of the things the developer's managed to pull off on the hardware. GTA: Chinatown Wars is easily one of the best Nintendo DS games on the platform.

The Last Remnant isn't for those who crave story and strong characterization in their single-player role-playing games. It's a long grind buoyed by a battle system that's alternately enjoyable for its depth and complexity but also frustrating for its unpredictability and lack of transparency. This version is much improved from the Xbox 360 counterpart, so anyone looking for the best version of Square Enix's title will find it here. Those who crave the freedom to delve into dungeon after dungeon in a large game world might find a lot to enjoy in this title despite its issues, as there are a lot of moving pieces to its systems. Considering the general dullness of the setting and narrative conflict, however, the game gives you little reason to stick around other than to drive up your characters' statistics and learn new attacks.

Grand Ages: Rome is an enjoyable game, but if you've played any of the other city-builders that have come along in the last ten years, you'll quickly grow bored of this one. The pieces are all in place in terms of city structures and jobs, but keeping people satisfied is relatively easy and is repeated in each and every mission to the point of becoming tedious. More variety and more challenge would definitely help to improve the game's appeal, as would a more lively visual style.

I don't know how I'm going to score a game until I sit down and write the review. After reading the paragraphs preceding this one, it's clear I did not like Wheelman. When Vin Diesel is attached to a project -- whether it be a movie or game -- you expect to have to suspend your disbelief and settle in for some unbelievable shenanigans. Sadly, Wheelman pushes those ideas too far past the point of no return. Sure, the occasional hip check from a sedan is cool, but there's no story to keep you going (Why would the gangs put up with his crap?), the combat is a chore (Oh, another swarm of bad guys to block my path? Fun.), and the game doesn't look that good (Cars are just generic boxes.). I wanted Wheelman to be a guilty pleasure, like 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand, but it's just guilty of being a poor game.

Marble Saga is a cute game with a ton of stages, a level editor that lets you extend the life of the game by as long as your imagination will let you, and a better price point than its predecessor. However, the controls and camera push back against all of the good will generated by the fixes over the original Mable Mania. I peeled the paint with the horrible, horrible things I said to this game while watching my marble fly off into space because of the weird control issues. It's a shame when a game with so much charm gets undercut by technical tomfoolery.

Pro Evo Soccer 2009 is an extremely fun soccer game. It has a ton of features, even if the bulk of them are unchanged from last year’s game (less the new UEFA Champions mode) but that doesn’t make them any less fun. The one caveat to buying Pro Evo 2009 goes to those who already own last year’s version. Unless you’re a diehard soccer fan who needs that UEFA license, you may just want to stick with the version you have. But if you’ve a soccer nut don’t let the initial shock of the user interface and control scheme throw you, Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 on the Wii presents some of the most realistic soccer in gaming.

I’m hoping this is the beginning of big things for the Rune Factory franchise on Wii, as the series has made a great debut on Nintendo’s console with Rune Factory Frontier. The visuals are beautiful, the world itself is well-crafted, and the design is as deep and addictive as the best titles in the Harvest Moon/Rune Factory series. The designers could certainly be nicer to players in the future, making it easier to figure out where to get the starting items and exactly what’s needed to expand the story, but as far as “do anything” gameplay goes, Rune Factory dominates on Wii. Everything from farming, fishing, forging, dungeon crawling, medicine making, mining, and cooking could be used as a key form of income, and it all leads to a simple – but fun – dungeon crawling experience complete with a handful of locales and bosses. You may want to keep a guide handy for some of the odd moments in the game, but it should in no way discourage you from picking this one up. The Rune Factory franchise is three for three, and its console debut is one that fans should really get behind. If a sequel comes around with more extravagant features (online co-op, MotionPlus support, real-time weather) and fixes some of the oddities found in this debut offering, Rune Factory could be one of the top franchises on Nintendo’s console hands-down. As it stands right now, it’s still a great package, and one of the deepest RPG’s on the system thus far.

Red Baron Arcade was originally planned for the 360 as well, but was canned. That probably should have told whomever was in charge at Sony that this probably wasn't worth passing certification. When the already clogged 360 Marketplace won't have your game, perhaps it's best left to a could-have-been. As it stands, this game might be the worst $10 you can spend on the PSN right now. It's a lifeless, joyless abomination of its namesake and isn't worth the price or time it takes to download. Skip this and go find the original Dynamix game instead. The time and effort needed to do so will be worth more than anything the PSN title can provide.

Metal Gear Solid Touch will be a real disappointment for both hardcore and casual fans. Despite the appearance of characters, settings, and weapons from the Metal Gear universe, this is not a Metal Gear game. It's a simple shooting gallery. But at least it's a good-looking simple shooting gallery with awesome music. Perhaps the later stages might get a little more Metal Gear-y, but right now, it's hard to recommend this lackluster shooter.

Astro Tripper can be beaten within a few hours, but the challenges and numerous difficulty levels make this a game you can come back to for quite a long time. The game doesn't have mind-blowing visuals by any stretch of the imagination, but the gameplay is rewarding and you can snag it for $4.99. Considering how much time you could spend aiming for high scores, I'd say that's a really good deal and it demonstrates how effectively the PlayStation Store can distribute games from smaller studios straight to the community.

If you've already purchased World in Conflict, then it's Soviet Assault you should be looking at, not the Complete Edition. The six new missions included in this version are well-constructed, add an interesting dimension to the story by building sympathy with the Soviets, as well as offer more characters fleshed out with strong voice acting and in-engine cutscenes. They're distributed throughout the original campaign instead of presented in a continuous string so you won't be playing through them all at once. If you're new to the game, then the Complete Edition is without question worth checking out, offering a distinct brand of real-time tactical gameplay that forgoes base building and complex resource collection in favor of immediate action and an accessible, streamlined system of reinforcement and explosive special attacks. For newbies, the extra missions in this version make an already great campaign even better.
