Rocketmen is a game in search of a center. The half-hearted RPG nods, quixotic story treatment and frustrating camera detract from a core of solid gameplay. The basics are there, but Rocketmen's problems overshadow the basic shoot-em-up beneath. If you're dying for a Smash TV wannabe right this minute, give this one a try. Otherwise, wait for something that gets it all right.

Disney Friends isn't the best pet simulation game on the market, but it's the only pet sim comes with "pets" that kids already have attachments to. The game is very basic in terms of gameplay, but the few interesting minigames and the gigantic amount of personality keeps it enjoyable. The game looks and sounds pretty nice as well, with good voice acting and some really nice character models. It might not last players very long, especially if they really get into it and play nonstop, but it's a fun ride.

If you're a passionate Dynasty Warriors fan, you're probably going to grab a copy of this game regardless of what I write here. Generally, this title delivers just about the same experience that the previous games delivered, so fans should give it a try. Otherwise, I had more fun with Dynasty Warriors: Gundam, which I would recommend to those new to the franchise but looking for a "better" button-mashing experience.

It's a bit odd that the very things that make the Mystery Dungeon series unique are the same things that make it less enjoyable to play than it ought to be. The random dungeons are oftentimes poorly laid out, and the turn based gameplay can lead to a slow, jerky experience. Still, Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer is a game that will certainly give players a run for their money, if only due to the fact that it takes forever to beat. The difficulty level is enough to fend off potential newcomers that are looking for an RPG to play in small spurts. It seems Shiren has two potential audiences: the nostalgic Mystery Dungeon fans, and the people that played Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, but want something a little more hardcore. And a message to the former of these two groups: Can somebody please come rescue us?

On a system that’s had plenty of baseball games already, and houses one of the best series in a long time with The Show, 2K8 might be a tough sell. The PS3 is starting to gain speed, the primary consoles are switching from the PS2 (and already dead Xbox) over to the next generation, and because of that you won’t find too many incredible options or serious PS2-specific devotion in 2K8. At the same time, you still get a pretty impressive piece of software with 2K’s latest offering on PS2, complete with most of the bells and whistles you’d expect, an online mode that still rocks, and some of the best commentary in the game today. For our cash we’d still stick with The Show as the primary choice on any Sony platform, as it’s really making some strides in both gameplay and visual offering, but if you’re a fan of 2K specifically, 2008 brings yet another solid year of ball. With that being said thoug h, the amount of glitches and quick corner-cutting shows exactly where 2K's devotion went this year. It's still a fun game of ball, but the PS2's days are numbered, and this is a token sign of that truth in motion.

For the third year in a row, SCEA has delivered an excellent baseball game in the form of their Show franchise. While the PS2 version doesn't innovate nearly as much as it did last year, it maintains its quality with some minor adjustments and enough creative touches to keep PS2 owners engaged. Baseball fans that haven't moved to the portable arena or to the PS3 will definitely want to check this game out.

Well, I'll give the Data Design guys an A for consistency. We've rated several of the developer's Wii projects and they have all scored a 1.0 -- a commendably low grade -- and now London Taxi Rush Hour is no different. Sloppy controls and offensively poor graphics -- N64 quality with a broken framerate -- combine for an end racing product that just plain sucks. Avoid this one at all costs. And if you've bought it already, burn it.
