7 Studios really nailed the license on this game. Although the presentation is as times a bit bland, the minigames are generally well done and capture the spirit of the film perfectly. This isn’t the best minigame collection on the DS, but it’s better than most. Diehard fans of the film will probably enjoy this collection, and gamers looking for some enjoyable, bite-sized gaming might be surprised by what they find here.

Ratatouille is fun, even though it's not the best platformer out there. There's a lot to do, and the game also features an ad hoc mode where you can race or collect cheese with a friend who also has the game. Ultimately though, if you're interested in playing a Ratatouille game, this is probably the one to go with because it's simply more fun and way less frustrating than the other versions. With that said, there's no ground-breaking elements we can speak of, so only give it a go if you're really pumped about playing Ratatouille. Otherwise, there are better games to spend your time with.

Telling the origin story of a well established franchise can be an extremely hazardous thing to do, but Silent Hill: 0rigins manages to wrap both the mythology of the movie and games together quite well. With a good storyline, intriguing gameplay elements and excellent production and replay value, 0rigins is definitely worthy of a Silent Hill fan's attention. While the combat and camera system is pretty weak, and the manual control over shifting between dimensions removes the feeling of dread, 0rigins does justice to the series as a whole. However, the port over to the PS2 just feels really basic and uninspired, with weaker textures and controls that could've been improved, but simply weren't. If you're looking to truly do justice to the horror of the game, you probably want to track down the PSP version if you have the chance.

Super Mario Bros. 3 is still a spectacular adventure today, and the best representation of the Mario universe to come from the NES. Though we would have loved to see a little something extra thrown in for this release, it's difficult to argue against Nintendo's standing policy of just releasing games just as they were when they first arrived – and Mario's third adventure still stands well enough on its own to firmly recommend it for download even with its old graphical quirks still in place. The only reasons you shouldn't already be walking to your Wii to launch the Shop and put down your 500 points would be if you're happy with a version of the game you already own, like the 2003 Game Boy Advance re-release, or if you're holding out hope that the visually enhanced Super Mario All-Stars edition will someday arrive as a downloadable option as well. But really, even then, it's five bucks. For one of the greatest video games of all time, and absolutely one of Mario's best ever adventures. So how can you resist adding to that already-enormous lifetime sales total?

The console version is the more impressive product, but Traveller's Tales handheld team pulled off a vastly improved version of the design for the Nintendo DS. Just wipe the existence of LEGO Star Wars II out of your mind - this one's the real deal. It's a really impressive, extensive single player experience, enhanced with the wireless cooperative mode for players with two copies at the ready.

If you were hoping that The Complete Saga would push the series into new territory, you'll be disappointed. At its best, the game is a well-polished collection of a pair of quickly-ageing gems. At its worst, it feels a tad stagnant, and we hope TT's upcoming LEGO-based games, LEGO Batman and LEGO Indiana Jones take the idea in a fresh direction. So aside from the camera controls, not-so-snappy studs and some problems with pacing in a handful of places, Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga is a solid game with good Wii implementation. Motion controls are there if you want them, but the game also plays well without the feature. If you've waited until now to try Lego Star Wars, this is definitely the game to buy. If you've already visited this far-away snap-together galaxy, you've probably seen it all before.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is a fantastic game. The single-player experience is easily Infinity Ward's best work to date. Calling it intense may be an understatement. The overall story is standard action movie fare, but the relationships built over the short five hours of play are surprisingly strong. Though the single-player lacks length, the multiplayer should keep you invested in COD4 for the long winter. This is a truly fantastic multiplayer offering that's as deep as any other online game available. Infinity Ward has done it again. Call of Duty 4 is a winner.

Gate of Thunder was an absolutely excellent choice to become the first game in the Wii Shop to have come from the TurboGrafx-CD. And while its branding there and on your Wii's Channel Array won't reflect that, it's undeniable once you launch the game – the soundtrack is explosive, and sounds amazing even when adapted into VC digital distribution form from its original CD source. Gate's gameplay, too, separates it from other side-scrolling shooters by keeping you more engaged, with more choices to make in the middle of tense firefights – will you take things slow, or set the ship to maximum speed? Will you attack all out in front, or split your focus to cover the rear as well? Overall, Gate of Thunder is just a very solid, satisfying and musically impressive title that is well worth your 800 Wii Point investment. So check it out.
