High on Life 2 could have easily relied on the novelty of talking guns and crude humor again. Instead, it expands on its foundation in some big and important ways. The story actually feels like it has higher stakes this time, with player choices even factoring into how the ending unfolds, and the Gatlians feel like more than delivery systems for jokes thanks to sharp performances and stronger writing. The skateboard feels great in traversal and combat, exploration ties into upgrades and even impacts the epilogue, and there's far more to do than just the main story. It isn't without issues, from technical instability and uneven sound mixing to customization that can be hard to fully appreciate in first-person, but none of that overshadows its greatest strengths. In the end, High on Life 2 understands what made the original work and pushes it forward in ways that actually matter.

At launch, Battlefield 6 is a fully-featured FPS that should give genre fans countless hours of entertainment. The single-player campaign may be underwhelming in some respects, but it gets the job done, and the multiplayer is a blast. Battlefield 6 would already be an easy recommendation based on what's there out of the gate, but it's getting even more content in the near future. EA has an aggressive plan for Battlefield 6's post-launch support, with new maps and modes, including a battle royale, right around the corner. Battlefield 6 is the most fun I've had with a Battlefield game in nearly a decade, and I can't wait to see where it goes from here.

inal Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles is a prime example of how to do a remaster right. With a deft hand, it enhances the 1998 original to make it prettier, more immersive, and less annoying, without changing its most essential aspects. How such aspects measure up against contemporary turn-based RPGs will almost certainly be a subject of heated discussion in the coming weeks and months, but fans of the original game should enjoy them. And first-time players will probably find a lot to love as well, provided they keep an open mind and take the good with the bad.
