There is a lot to like here, from a children's storybook art style to a unique take on 2D platformers. But the pieces don't come together to create an engaging experience that keeps you coming back. You're supposed to watch over this little girl and get her to safety but after a few levels you'll probably be saying, "Screw it, if she wants to jump off a cliff she can go right ahead." Sometimes you have to use a little tough love.

Let's Go Tower Defense Play! isn't a terrible game, which is more than you can say for most South Park releases. That said, it fails to offer any real fun as a single player game and only really works as a nostalgic look at some of the funnier bits in the world of South Park. Anybody in the market for a middle of the road tower defense game with some cursing and jokes you've heard before has found their match.

Family Fun Football is a Tecmo Bowl disaster. It's clear that it wants to be the classic, but it takes a hard dive in quality. And without the Tecmo Bowl legacy, it just feels like a really bad, abridged arcade football game with limiting appeal.

Unless you or your kids want to play as Jedi or clone troopers just for the sake of doing so, then there's really nothing here that'll keep anyone, young or old, interested for very long. Even if it does, you or your kin are bound to be frustrated at numerous sections and will likely wind up putting down the controller sooner or later. If you want a good family-oriented Star Wars game, you're still way better off with the LEGO Star Wars titles

Republic Heroes is just not much fun. The platforming is frustrating and the combat is largely unexciting, save for a handful of fights. You are kept so far back from the action that it’s hard to make any sort of connection with these heroes and their adventure. For a universe that has so much invested in these characters (save for the pretty dull clone troopers), it’s too bad Republic Heroes does little to spotlight them. Honestly, I had more fun playing Star Wars: Episode III –- Revenge of the Sith on DS... back in 2005.

With solid, fast paced gameplay and an excellent presentation that's easily the best the series has ever had, NBA 2K10 continues its strong pedigree of great basketball. While the presentation holds down the fort, the inclusion of the NBA Today and My Player modes, as well as the addition of the developmental leagues make an already good title even better. While the technical issues, such as the slowdown and the legacy problems with the AI and shooting are dismaying, they don't completely destroy the on-court experience, which is still strong enough to allow 2K to hold the basketball crown for yet another year.

The Wii version of Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 was nothing to write home about, and dropping in a bunch of technical issues like long loads and a terrible framerate while removing multiplayer doesn't make the PSP any more appealing.

I know there's a menagerie of big games on the horizon and you probably have plenty to keep yourself occupied until then, but I encourage people to give Tornado Outbreak a try. The game is forty dollars on PS3, 360 and Wii (which might be ten dollars too much), but it's still worth the money. The combination of a cute story with straight-forward, extremely rewarding gameplay makes up for the low production values of certain game elements. And, with lots of hidden goodies to find in each stage and drop-in/out local two-player, Tornado Outbreak is ultimately worth the investment. You'll get the same experience on any platform, so pick your console of choice and start saving the world... by destroying it.

Undead Knights is built on an interesting premise, but that idea isn't taken to the extremes like it should have been. The humor isn't played up enough, the controls can be problematic, it can get rather repetitive and the whole thing just isn't as polished as I would have liked to have seen. If you absolutely love zombies and their lingering walk is funny to you, then you might find something to enjoy here. Otherwise, pass on this one.

NBA Live 10, while it certainly has issues that people are going to gripe about, is exactly what the series needed to fire up its dwindling fan base and add new players alike. The gameplay is nicely refined and emulates real basketball with much greater success than past games. I expect NBA Live 11 to really step up and deliver more than this year’s game did in terms of modes. Couple some sort of career mode with the smooth gameplay and the next entry in the Live series could steal the crown away from 2K Sports.

Battle of Giants: Dragons builds a lot on the concepts from Dinosaurs. The game is more involved, and has a lot more going on, so it doesn’t get stale as fast (though it does still venture into the realm of tedium). The plot is pretty basic, but made silly by all the made up dragon language and weird growly voice acting. This is a worthy successor to Dinosaurs. The bottom line is, this is a fun game. It’s original, it’s entertaining, and it’s unbelievably dorky.

I'd love to see Alien Havoc 2: Balls to the Walls. You know, a sequel that lets loose and goes for fast-paced twitch gameplay over the sluggish pace of this release. Bite-sized games like this live or die on their addictiveness. And Alien Havoc is not addictive.
