There's no reason for you to play Damnation. It fails at being a worthwhile title on all fronts. The gameplay isn't fun, the levels are too long, the sound is bad, and the story isn't interesting. There are more problems, but I'll leave my written flogging at that. Avoid this game at all costs.

If you've never played a Guilty Gear game before, or you've just recently started dabbling in fighting games altogether, I suggest buying this one -- assuming you have a Classic Controller. Accent Core Plus is the most robust representative of the franchise and sports the same hyper-stylish, fun gameplay that series veterans can attest to. It even comes with the soundtrack! On the other hand, if you own a few of the other Guilty Gears, this one might not be worth it. I'm pleased with the additions, but I'd be more happy to see the franchise (and developer) move on. And as stated numerous times before, playing with the default Remote/nunchuck combo just doesn't cut it. You need to invest in the better gear.

Rock Band Unplugged is a blast and I highly recommend it to people looking to jam on the go, but you do need to examine the cost/benefit side of things. Yes, the gameplay is amazing and a ton of fun, but this is well-worn territory of fans for the franchise. If playing World Tour gigs and hitting up Band Survival Mode every now and again is good enough for you -- and it is for me -- great. However, without any multiplayer you lose the true incentive to download new music and to keep this game forever and ever. Again, the game is impressive, but it falls a bit short of the bar the franchise has set in the past.

Neopets Puzzle Adventure is a suitable puzzle game for younger players. There is a large existing Neopets audience, and Capcom has put in the effort to make a fun and good-looking game that should appeal to those fans. Gamers that have passed puberty and enjoyed Puzzle Quest will likely find Neopets to be a little shallow, though. But you could do a lot worse than 150+ matches of Othello with a twist.

Guitar Hero: Metallica is a great music game, one that has a track list that almost seems like it was written expressly for the purpose of this title. A lot of care was put into the production to ensure that it is both true to the band and its music, while also offering fans cool insight into the group's on-goings. It certainly doesn't reinvent the wheel, but it's been a while since I've had this much fun with a music game. The only thing keeping me from scoring it higher is the fact that it doesn't support most of the Guitar Hero DLC. Other than that, it's a great experience that Metallica fans should run out and get.

It's been an incredibly long time since Nathan Spencer swung onto a console, and for the most part, his return is a solid one. Bionic Commando provides an updated adventure for the classic hero, sending him as a one man army against daunting odds to save the world once again. If you can look past the replayability issues that crop up due to the linear play, you'll find an enjoyable adventure that easily re-establishes the franchise for Capcom. You've been out of duty for way too long, Spencer – Hopefully you'll come back sooner than later.

XNA developers need to be careful what they wish for. When making the leap from XNA to XBLA, there are two possible reactions gamers might have: "Wow, this looks great for an XNA-developed game!" or "Wow, this looks like an XNA-developed game." Your reaction to Blazing Birds will likely be the latter. If there was some really compelling gameplay here the visuals would be easier to overlook, but this is a pretty simple badminton game with power-ups added. The lack of online play is also disappointing. You'll have more fun slapping your own 'cock around.

Given the distinct lack of RTS games on the system, even a perfunctory port of Anno would be welcome on Wii. Quite unexpectedly though, Ubisoft has delivered a game that’s been thoughtfully designed around the strengths of Nintendo’s system, delivering an experience that retains the essence and depth of the long-running series while streamlining it to offer a pacier, more accessible twist on the familiar formula, replacing unnecessary complexity with gameplay breadth. By shunning the micro-management elements of the series, Create a New World mightn’t be enough to satiate genre fans raised on PC offerings. However, anyone looking for an engaging, involving alternative to typically lightweight Wii fare should be delighted by Anno’s bright, breezy and beautifully presented Wii debut.

If you've ever wanted to play poker with a trick up your sleeve, this is your game. It's a fun twist on a classic card game, but the presentation is pretty amateurish. You might expect more from the developer of Stubbs the Zombie. The intriguing concept of Texas Cheat 'Em may be enough to make you overlook the drab visuals, though.

Bash Party is not a revolutionary sequel. This is still recognizably Boom Blox. However, it's as though EA injected the experience with a serious supply of steroids. A ridiculous amount of fantastic new levels complete with unique attributes like varying physics, great new blocks and tools, a remade presentation complemented by a robust achievements system, a Boom Bux currency to buy upgrades, and more. And, of course, the same throw-and-break mechanics that made the original so much fun are back in full. You'll be playing the title for months with friends. And the best part is, you could potentially be playing well into next year because of the superb editor and online integration. Wait until you see how easy it is to create and trade levels. If more developers took the time to approach Wii software this way, the online state of the console would be in a very different, altogether better place.

UFC 2009 Undisputed has its fair share of issues for an up-start franchise, but that doesn’t mean that UFC fans and non-fans alike won’t have fun with the game once they get the complexities figured out. The career mode is fun and well-designed, the combat is cool and visually engaging, and the classic fights mode is sure to please UFC aficionados. If THQ can fix the blemishes and speed things up quite a bit so the physicality and true athleticism of the sport can shine through, we could have a serious contender on our hands.

While interesting and engaging, Battlestations: Pacific is not for everyone. The pace of many battles might be a bit too slow for adrenaline junkies, and those looking for simple thrills should look elsewhere. But if you're a World War II fan who's tired of the endless string of shooters or you feel that you've seen Normandy Beach one too many times, then you might want to check this distinctive and engaging World War II game out.

Galaxy Force II wasn't a mindblowing graphical sensation in the arcades, but it was certainly superior to the port we have here -- and those more impressive visuals, paired with the unique shape of the actual coin-op cabinet (it had a built-in seat, pedals for acceleration and braking, and everything) were the things that made this game worth spending some time and quarters on in the late '80s. Deprived of those most novel qualities, restricted to a compromised version made to work on the less-powerful Genesis hardware, and, now, removed 20 years from the era of its first arrival, there's little reason any more to pay attention to a game like this. Save your 800 Wii Points for other, better selections sometime in the future. Like, say, actual Virtual Console Arcade releases.
