Kidz Sports: Basketball is just another piece of shovelware for gamers to sift through when looking for the real stars of the system. Like Ice Hockey, Data Design Interactive’s adaptation of basketball is a complete and utter failure in the gameplay department, and its all too obvious that the company is catering to the lowest form of human intelligence with this one. It’s games like these that make us wish the official Nintendo seal of quality meant something, and it’s baffling to think the company wouldn’t support games because they’re too violent, but has no problem putting countless titles on the shelves that do nothing but exploit the console. Kidz Sports: Basketball makes NBA Live 08 (4.9/10) for Wii look like pure gold, and that’s nothing short of sick.

There's not a lot of depth or substance to Blokus Portable; the Steambot characters don't really have an impact or purpose to the title, the unlockables are shallow, and the gameplay doesn't really vary at all. If you like the board game, you might like this game, but the lack of depth will quickly wear thin on you.

Triggerheart doesn't have a whole lot going for it. Like most arcade shooters, the experience is brief. The challenge is there for those who would like to memorize attack patterns and master the five levels, but there isn't anything that feels exciting. If you're a big shoot-em-up fan, this will tide you over until Ikaruga comes out on the XBLA (fancy this one made it out of the gate first, isn't it?) but everyone else should just wait.

Frontlines: Fuel of War is clearly deeply dependent on its gameplay to bring home the bacon. Its single-player performs well enough to get players to work their way through for the achievement points it’s the multiplayer that will hook some FPS fanatics. If you can forget about the fact that you’ve been playing this style game for years with the Battlefield franchise then Frontlines will hook you for some time with its gargantuan battles, but for most Fuel of War will likely be too generic to truly sink their teeth into.

Developer Redtribe (Looney Tunes: ACME Arsenal) makes no mention of Jumper: Griffin's Story on its official website. A few minutes of quality time with the game will reveal why. This is the epitomy of a movie tie-in hack job. Low production values, monotonous gameplay, and lackluster visuals make this a story you can jump past. There is some fun to be had with the game's combat, but this will get old quickly for all but the most hardcore Jumper Super Fans. If that's you, then you must be looking forward to the Meet the Spartans game.

The Naruto franchise has given players everything from action to adventure, RPG and 2D arena fighting on GBA and DS, but for the first time on a Nintendo handheld D3 has delivered something that is truly worth getting excited about. Naruto: Ninja Destiny is a much-needed leap in the right direction, as the game draws its inspiration from the Clash of Ninja series, and succeeds in delivering one of the best fighting games on DS, and it’s only going to get better down the line. Ninja Destiny is a little thin as far as game modes and multiplayer goes, with only Arcade and Story modes teaming with multi-card two player action (no download play here), but the core engine is strong enough to go nuts on the inevitable sequel down the line. The action is fluid and beautiful, the animations are slick, and the combat is fast and entertaining. Developer Dream Factory has laid one heck of a foundation with Ninja Destiny. Now it’s time to build on that foundation.

So what's the final verdict on Kirby 64's encore appearance on the Virtual Console? Good, but not great. The game is still a solid and enjoyable platforming experience for fans of the pink puffball and worth a look with its asking price of 1000 Wii Points – it's just not as versatile or as representative of the Kirby franchise as a whole as other games are, like Kirby's Adventure or Kirby Super Star. Kirby 64 on the VC is a 10 dollar investment that will earn you a couple of afternoons of simple, casual and unchallenging gameplay and then will likely not get revisited too often in your Wii's Channel Array. But if you have younger gamers in your household who need an easy and accessible platformer to get into, definitely give it a look – they'll have a blast hunting down all the missing Crystal Shards.

Do yourself a favor and ignore this game. The appeal of a co-op experience is oftentimes strong, but there is essentially no merit to Conflict: Denied Ops. It offers nothing unique and has almost no production value. Shooters are a dime a dozen these days and most have this game beat at every turn.

Rail Simulator is a piece of software that seems to accomplish what it set out to do. It doesn't do it with much panache, graphical or otherwise, but it gets it done. You drive trains, and build worlds to drive them in. It's too bad they couldn't have included more detailed information on how exactly that is accomplished, but the player community seems pretty good about helping out anyone who wants to learn. Rail Simulator will probably please hardcore rail fans, but it'll bore the socks right off anyone else.

Need for Speed ProStreet does very little right on the PSP. If you're in dire need of a racing game, it'll do the job, but there are many more racing titles on the system that are much, much better.

If you've never played Unreal Tournament before, this is a must-own game on PS3. It's still the most frantic, engrossingly intense first-person shooter formula out there and even after eight years still proves to be wildly entertaining. It certainly helps that Epic has done a terrific job of making this game run on PS3, as well as provide tons of tweaking extras like server filters, customization options, and input alternatives that you typically don't see in a console game. The interface for accessing all these options and browsing servers may be a little clunky, but that hardly diminishes the unique brand of gameplay UT offers.

It's a shame, because the concept opens up a million gameplay opportunities. How can the ability to teleport be boring? With this and Alvin & the Chipmunks under its belt, publisher Brash is really not off to a good start.

It’s actually pretty tough to come up with much of anything negative to say about King of Fighters ’94, as it’s an impressive fighter that’s a lot of fun to play, it’s historically significant, it’s innovative and it’s held up very well over the past 14 years. The issue of value worth considering, though, is the fact that this game just has so many sequels. And so many excellent sequels. The later, more recent versions of King of Fighters from 1995, 1996 and onward are certain to appear in the Wii Shop in the future, and so it might be worthwhile to some fans to consider waiting a while to see how SNK Playmore will choose to release those – 900 Wii Points isn’t the cheapest pricetag in the Shop, so a bit of patience might be advisable. For those who don’t really care to wait, though, King of Fighters ’94 earns a solid recommendation and will assuredly serve you well as a go-to fighter to call up from your Channel Array when friends come over and start talking trash. It’s only a matter of time before they do, after all.
