At the very least the game shows that the Robotron design can work with the DS system's touch screen -- there just needs to be a more competent production to exploit it. Had the designers focused more on the action instead of recreating the film's storyline, Monster House on the DS would have ended up a far superior product. Instead, the game doesn't borrow enough from the games it's lifting its ideas from - it's got the graphics engine and the control down, but what it needs is the quick pace and aggressive action to give Monster House that addictive element that made those similar games so classic.

What Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth really comes down to is a matter of your personal experience with the original title. If you played the first game and you loved it, you don’t necessarily need to purchase this title unless you are a major fan of the series and want a hint about what to expect from Silmeria when it's released in two months or you want to take the original game on the go. If you weren’t lucky enough to get your hands on the game the first time around, this is a excellent way to check out a challenging non-linear title that has plenty of depth and story to back up a creative game experience. It’s a shame that only the visual and aural aspects were bolstered in the port from the PSX to the PSP, but what is included does make those particular game elements much more appealing than they originally were. That being said, this is still the best RPG that the PSP has received to date, and fans of the genre will definitely be pleased with this title.

NCAA Football 07 manages to capture the back and forth emotional tide of the college experience quite well with this year's inclusion of the momentum mechanic. True, it may turn teams into superhuman squads on both sides of the ball when they're fully pumped up, but the feeling that the game can swing on just about any play is a welcome addition for any player that wants to feel like Captain Comeback. Unfortunately, the inaccurate yardage tracking basically removes the running game, and makes this year's NCAA Football a title only for players who like to air the ball out.

Familiarity and limitations aside, Lemmings is still a fun pick-up for PlayStation 3 puzzle fans. Priced at only a couple of bucks and stacked with some admittedly cool challenges, it's definitely a good way to pass the time as we wait for bigger, meatier games headed down the road.

In the end, Digital Eclipse did a perfunctory job with Frogger. All of the little additions make it a nice, friendly arcade game for the casual gamer, or conversely for the obsessed hardcore, old-school perfectionist. It might be worth your while to earn some cheap, but not necessarily easy, Achievement points, and it is always easy to pick up and play for a little while. It's also only $5.

MTX Mototrax offers a pretty decent ride through the world of dirt racing. It offers just about everything fans of the sport could want, including a good selection of tracks and a variety of game modes. It's a little rough around the edges, both in the visuals and gameplay department, but these hiccups hardly get in the way of the game. Plus, the bundled track creator and multiplayer modes will keep the race going for a good while.

Hardcore Hummer fans or owners will like seeing taking control of their favorite rides. Racing fans, however, will not enjoy the weak competition, shallow game modes and lackluster graphics and sound. We like the idea of customizing Hummers and racing them around exotic locales -- we just wish Eutechnyx liked that too.

There's nothing wrong with Brave Story. It's a solid RPG that's sure to appeal to fans who want a fun yet simple romp through the genre they love. However, Brave Story lacks the ingenuity to make it something I'd play for hours on end. After a set of the exact same events -- random battles, dungeon, random battles, boss -- I was rolling my eyes and ready to power down the PSP. Even the inclusion of being able to capture birds and make them fight didn't best the urge to take a break.

While Juiced: Eliminator's driving mechanics and track design are rather so-so and somewhat boring, its career mode setup and aspects are great, making the actual driving itself quite worthwhile. If you're not into modding vehicles whatsoever and couldn't care less about interacting with other drivers (albeit on an almost hands-off level), then this isn't the game for you. But if you want a compelling and rather open career mode that'll let you focus on whatever aspects of racing that you'd like, give Juiced: Eliminator a good look.

Micro Machines V4 is a surprisingly deep little racer that, while not without its problems, offers quite a decent trip down a virtual racetrack. But keep in mind, if you're a hardcore driving nut then you should probably lower the score below a good one to two points... as this game isn't really made with you in mind. Who it is made for, however, is an adolescent player who recognizes the toy line, is altogether new to gaming, or likes to keep their racing nice and simple. If that sounds like you or someone you know, then you may want to raise that score a point or two instead.
