Lately, platformers have resorted to uninspired collecting marathons. Tak manages to breathe new energy and life into the genre. While not a revolutionary title, Tak possesses enough characteristics that you want to play it through it. Perhaps it's because of the goofy main character, a humorous plot line, or some creative ways to present age old puzzles, but you're compelled to play through Tak. It's fun and incorporates platform collecting in a way that doesn't seem like you're gathering all sorts of items.
Although Tak is straightforward and simple, it is designed for kids and should provide a challenge while keeping them entertained. If you're an older gamer, Tak is still a fun, light-hearted romp even if it doesn't provide you with excessive challenge -- you might be surprised by what sort of power this Juju using tribesman has.
If you're interested in Tak and own a GameCube, then you should pick up the GCN copy (it's not just because I'm a GameCube editor). The graphical problems in the PS2 version do detract from the overall experience -- Tak is simply more polished on Nintendo's console.
Sans être réellement au point côté gameplay, ce jeu de plates-formes multiplie les idées pertinentes pour renouveler la progression, mais celles-ci donnent davantage l'impression de déjà-vu qu'elles ne confèrent à Tak une identité propre.
