I know there's a menagerie of big games on the horizon and you probably have plenty to keep yourself occupied until then, but I encourage people to give Tornado Outbreak a try. The game is forty dollars on PS3, 360 and Wii (which might be ten dollars too much), but it's still worth the money. The combination of a cute story with straight-forward, extremely rewarding gameplay makes up for the low production values of certain game elements. And, with lots of hidden goodies to find in each stage and drop-in/out local two-player, Tornado Outbreak is ultimately worth the investment.
You'll get the same experience on any platform, so pick your console of choice and start saving the world... by destroying it.
