Mortal Kombat 11 está a la altura de todo lo que se espera de una saga con más de 25 años a sus espaldas, y eso no es poco. Un producto completísimo y capaz de contentar a todos los estratos de aficionados de juegos de lucha, sin importar su experiencia en el género o profundidad. El nuevo sistema de personalización de personajes añade mayor variedad a los combates y se ha nutrido a cada protagonista con docenas de skins y elementos estéticos desbloqueables. Todos los añadidos jugables son lo suficientemente profundos para aguantar el tirón en los próximos años.

It’s a rare fighting game that hits just about every note as strongly as Mortal Kombat 11 does. Everything from its methodical and deep combat to its fantastically absurd story mode and its rock-solid netcode, right down to its extraordinarily comprehensive tutorial is absolutely exceptional. It’s only when you get into its drawn-out progression that it trips up: the keys to unlocking Mortal Kombat 11’s rich vault of customization options are locked behind the frustratingly gimmicky and grindy barriers of the Krypt and Towers of Time. This series continues to prove that there’s real fighting depth beyond its notoriously gory Fatalities, and this one in particular stands out as a spine-ripping good time.

Les jeux de combat de la trempe de Mortal Kombat 11 sont rares. Tout, de son système de combat technique et profond à son mode histoire fantastiquement absurde en passant par son netcode solide comme le roc et son didacticiel ultra exhaustif, s’avère incroyablement réussi, si l’on oublie un système de progression définitivement poussif, basé sur l’obtention de coffres à butin pour déverrouiller les nombreux éléments de personnalisation dans les modes Krypte et Tours du Temps. Cette franchise continue de prouver qu’elle ne se résume pas uniquement à ses Fatalités sanglantes et dispose de solides arguments en matière de gameplay, et ce nouvel opus en est l’exemple le plus frappant.

Mortal Kombat 11 continua a far crescere la serie, seguendo un percorso vincente iniziato nel 2011 col reboot. Limati alcuni piccoli difetti del precedente capitolo, riviste un paio di meccaniche e aggiunto in maniera intelligente nuovi elementi che bene si integrano col resto del gameplay, NetherRealm Studios ha confezionato un prodotto che presta il fianco solo a qualche eventuale critica legata alla presenza di microtransazioni che potrebbero “tentare” coloro che trovano frustranti alcuni passaggi del gioco, e non hanno tempo o voglia di impegnarsi per ore a grindare i lottatori o sbloccare “in game” certe ricompense, in un titolo che però non appartiene alla categoria “pay for win”. In generale resta quindi un titolo talmente ricco di contenuti da poter impegnare i videogiocatori per mesi senza mai annoiarli, con in più un buon comparto tecnico e un gameplay che gode della fluidità offerta dai sessanta frame per secondo e dal gran numero di variazioni e fattori aggiuntivi che caratterizzano le brutali dinamiche degli scontri. Un gioco di combattimento quindi imperdibile per tutti i fan della saga e dei picchiaduro a incontri, a cui può regalare davvero parecchie soddisfazioni.

Se anunció casi sin que nadie lo pidiera pero ahora, que le hemos podido meter decenas de horas y pensamos seguir dándole duro, no nos queda duda de que este Mortal Kombat 11 viene a sustituir directamente a MK X ya que lleva más allá muchas ideas que aquel introdujo y dispone todo su contenido con un equilibrio y arquitectura envidiables. Arduo para nuevos jugadores pero una oportunidad didáctica de dejarse envolver por su fórmula y exigencias, sin duda este capítulo se ha creado pensando en el fan, que tanto offline como online tiene las mejores versiones de todos los modos y personajes hasta la fecha, aunque se nota que había ya poco margen para la sorpresa o la innovación en esta generación.

Mortal Kombat has never been better. It blends gameplay from all past generations and adds new elements into a potent and bloody mix. The Fatalities and Fatal Blows are as gruesome as you’d expect from a title in the series, the fighting mechanics are extremely satisfying and a well-thought-out story mode elevates it into the top tier of fighting games. It certainly earned a spot in my weekly rotation. Flawless Victory!
