BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle is like a jigsaw puzzle made of pieces from four entirely different sets, that by some miracle still manage to fit together to make a unique and mesmerizing tag fighting game. Aside from its unsatisfying single-player mode and aggravating paywalled characters, it’s just the right blend of accessibility and depth, and one of the best entry points into fighting games you’ll find.

BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle doesn’t do anything to revolutionize the crossover tag team fighting system, it simply sticks to a formula that has worked before and does a great job with it. The single player experience is enjoyable, though not as robust as we have seen in some other fighters as there is no arcade mode and the Episode mode is more cutscene than gameplay. As one would expect with the genre, BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle excels when playing against another person, and that experience is just as enjoyable either on the couch or online. The initial roster of twenty fighters is respectable, but that will eventually grow to forty through DLC. While the single player content alone might not be enough to warrant the purchase, there are countless hours of fun to be had playing against other people.

La mejor arma de este nuevo juego de Arc System Works es que resulta tan accesible como profundo en su acercamiento al combate por parejas. Dentro del ring todo es fluidez, diversión y posibilidades, pero cuando salimos de este las opciones que tenemos a nuestra disposición resultan algo más limitadas, con un reparto de personajes que tiene ya varios personajes que solo se desbloquean pagando (aunque el juego llega a precio reducido), y una nómina de modos de juego más limitada de la que nos gustaría. Por suerte las opciones online van de maravilla... Y si eso es lo que buscas, tendrás juego para rato.

Difficile de dire à travers ce test si BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle aura un avenir radieux dans la scène compétitive. Difficile également d’anticiper la réaction des gros joueurs de versus face à un titre qui met plus en avant le mental et la réaction, et davantage en retrait l’exécution et le par cœur. Mais ce dont nous sommes sûrs, c’est que le dernier petit d’Arc System Works et un jeu accessible, fun, et dont les mécaniques de gameplay sauront vous tenir en haleine durant les matchs. Dans tous les cas, une chose est certaine, la rapidité et la nervosité des rounds font que nous avons envie de relancer une partie tout de suite après avoir terminé une rencontre !

BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle è un titolo che piacerà indubbiamente ai fan dello sviluppatore nipponico cresciuti coi suoi picchiaduro bidimensionali e divertirà chi si sta avvicinando al genere da poco. Purtroppo alcuni personaggi nel roster hanno meno appeal di altri e l'offerta in termini di DLC lascia parecchio a desiderare, specialmente quando ci si rende conto che ogni sprite è stato riciclato e il comparto tecnico sente il peso degli anni in generale: per questo motivo, dubitiamo che il titolo Arc System Works riuscirà a imporsi in un mercato che diventa sempre più sofisticato sotto ogni aspetto.

Malgré un modèle économique un peu étrange et un contenu finalement assez limité, Blazblue Cross Tag Battle est un jeu de combat particulièrement divertissant, grâce à ses mécaniques bien pensées. Le jeu en équipe prend ici tout son sens et l’on a été surpris de voir à quel point le jeu peut se montrer technique, quand bien même il se prend très facilement en mains. Rien d’inoubliable mais de quoi passer de bons moments cet été !
