Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD is proof positive that sometimes all you really need to kickstart a series is to go back to its roots. While there are still a few glitches and notable absences we'd like to see ironed out, we're already dreaming up which levels, moves, and modes we'll see in future DLC packs. Tony Hawk definitely rewards your $15 with equal parts fun and nostalgia.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD may accomplish all of its goals, but there is still a lot to be desired. The graphics are outdated, the gameplay is missing a key component, there aren't enough levels and the create-a-character mode has been removed entirely. If you can get around these disappointments, you'll find a good, but not great, skating game for cheap!

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD no es el juego de skate definitivo, pero las sensaciones que deja son muy positivas, principalmente gracias a que vuelve a los orígenes de la saga (que es cuando salieron los mejores juegos, no nos engañemos). Tiene carencias, pero el balance acaba siendo positivo y es muy recomendable para cualquiera que haya disfrutado alguna partida a los primeros juegos de la saga, porque aquí encontrará una buena ración de nostalgia y calidad. Y si no, siempre encontraréis algo distinto a lo que hayáis visto últimamente, así que no deja de ser una buena opción, ya que entre los diferentes modos y los marcadores on-line tendréis juego para rato.

Tony Hawk Pro Skater HD was an intriguing experiment to revive the Tony Hawk name, but it didn’t pan out as hoped. While the game invokes memories with those who grew up playing the Neversoft games, the content is a bit skimpy and the gameplay behind its time. Still, if you have fond memories of the early Tony Hawk Pro Skater games, the nostalgia alone may be worth the price of admission.

This is definitely a competent Tony Hawk game at the price tag of 1200 MP. The nostalgia around these first two titles was enough for me to buy it already. For people that don't have strong feelings about the Tony Hawk games though, they may want to pass. 7 Levels with an easily repeatable soundtrack will not keep a new gamer's attention very long. A couple new modes and the addition of Xbox Live multiplayer is just not enough for me to recommend THPSHD to someone that doesn't already have strong feelings for the two games.

La série des Tony Hawk revient aux fondamentaux avec un remake essentiellement destiné aux nostalgiques des premiers volets. Ces derniers prendront en effet un plaisir fou à retrouver les pentes de Downhill Jam ou les secrets de Venice Beach. Les néophytes auront certainement un peu plus de mal à s'adapter à un gameplay relativement rigide. Que l'on soit un habitué ou non de la licence, on peut aussi regretter que le contenu de ce Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD ne soit pas un peu plus conséquent.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD rappresenta il perfetto remake dei primi due capitoli della serie. Pur non aggiungendo nulla di nuovo al pacchetto originale, Robomodo è riuscita con successo a riproporre le ambientazioni, le modalità e il gameplay di una generazione videoludica magnifica, e mai dimenticata. Purtroppo, questo è anche il più grande difetto della produzione: le meccaniche di gioco risultano nella maggior parte dei casi obsolete e difficilmente digeribili dai videogiocatori abituati ad evoluzioni più "moderne". Per i più giovani si tratterà di un esperimento coraggioso ma fallimentare; per i più navigati rappresenterà un divertente passatempo che però non durerà più di qualche ora. Sono tanti i passi avanti compiuti dall’industria videoludica in questi anni e anche i videogiochi dedicati allo skateboard hanno subito delle profonde trasformazioni, atte a migliorare l’esperienza di gioco. A causa di questi significativi cambiamenti il divario tra le meccaniche di gioco di Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD e titoli più recenti diventa ancora più evidente. Il titolo Activision tenta di riproporre un titolo che oggi difficilmente riuscirà a trovare posto se non nella collezione di qualche irriducibile affezionato alla serie.
