SNK vs. Capcom Card Fighters DS is without a doubt one of the biggest letdowns thus far on DS. For the niche crowd, card fighting fans, or Capcom/SNK loyalists, SNK vs. Capcom Card Fighters could have been an amazing game, as it looked to bring a second life to the age-old Neo Pocket title that many hardcore portable fans know and love. Instead, we’ve received a buggy, poorly translated, somewhat shallow card game that has about as much production value as a first-generation GBA game, and that sucks. With games like Chocobo Tales out there - a title that’s only half card battler, and still trumps this title - and the knowledge that we’ve already had better from this exact franchise on a weaker system, there’s no way we can recommend this one. All we can do is hope that SNK gives this game a proper sequel (something the franchise deserves), or dig up our Neo Pocket and play a version that’s actually worth our time and money, as the DS version is a shell of a game. We wanted to love this one. We really did.
