Galaxy Force II wasn't a mindblowing graphical sensation in the arcades, but it was certainly superior to the port we have here -- and those more impressive visuals, paired with the unique shape of the actual coin-op cabinet (it had a built-in seat, pedals for acceleration and braking, and everything) were the things that made this game worth spending some time and quarters on in the late '80s.
Deprived of those most novel qualities, restricted to a compromised version made to work on the less-powerful Genesis hardware, and, now, removed 20 years from the era of its first arrival, there's little reason any more to pay attention to a game like this. Save your 800 Wii Points for other, better selections sometime in the future. Like, say, actual Virtual Console Arcade releases.
