Unpacking is a delightful and charming puzzle game, one that perfectly takes a chore such as moving and perfectly shows how it can highlight the most important parts of our lives, allowing us to reflect upon them and the transitions we go through along the way. It helps that it also has terrific gameplay built around trying to find space by rearranging items as if they were blocks, all while telling a captivating story through each small bit taken out of each box. It’s an impressive little package that you’ll want to dive into.

Unpacking is a wonderfully quaint experience that adds an extra punch to what it means to grow, change, and move on. Even if it could be a bit longer and more extensive, it justifies its place in my game library.

Unpacking’s greatest achievement is that it tells a story without any of the tools we’d usually consider essential. There’s no dialogue, very little text, and no visible characters. All you have to work with is a series of rooms, dozens of boxes, and the year in which each stage takes place; it’s up to you to put everything together as you see fit. Not only does it work, it’s actually quite moving (pun intended). It certainly made me think about all of the things I’ve packed and unpacked over the years, as well as what they say about me.

La campagna di Gloomhaven è sostanziosa, forse anche troppo, infarcita di dettagli e sfumature e vederla trasposta così fedelmente ci ha sinceramente stupito. Gloomhaven è ormai da tempo stabile al primo posto di BoardGame Geek, il sito principale di riferimento per gli hobbisti dal tavolo: se siete amanti dei dungeon crawler o in generale delle esperienze fantasy, vi consigliamo assolutamente questa trasposizione digitale per un'esperienza che potrebbe stupirvi ed immergervi. Per chi invece ha già giocato numerose ore e scenari sul gioco originale, potreste scoprire in questa versione un nuovo modo di concepire e godere dell'avventura, magari in solitario o con un nuovo gruppo di amici.

Skul: The Hero Slayer è un piccolo rogue-lite davvero ben fatto e divertente. L’impressionante quantità di classi presenti dona al titolo una varietà di gameplay enorme, tanto da arrivare difficilmente ad annoiare, nonostante non abbia un grande assortimento di livelli. Nella sua forma finale Skul ha però ancora alcuni problemi di bilanciamento, soprattutto riguardo alla potenza di alcune classi, ma se amate questo genere sicuramente non vi deluderà.

Circuit Superstars est assurément LA bonne surprise de cette rentrée 2021. Le jeu surfe sur le côté nostalgique des courses en vue top down et sur l’ambiance Micro Machines, mais en y apportant une sacrée couche de modernité. Bien qu’arcade, le pilotage n’est pas exempt d’une belle profondeur, et s’y on s’y amuse rapidement, il faudra pas mal de pratique pour arriver à squatter les podiums du mode en ligne. Un véritable jeu easy to learn hard to master en gros. On regrettera seulement le comportement de certains joueurs en online qui transforment les courses en un Demolition Derby en règle, sans qu’aucun système ne soit prévu pour calmer leurs ardeurs. Il ne reste plus qu’à espérer que les développeurs n’en resteront pas là, et qu’on verra arriver du contenu supplémentaire, qu’il s’agisse de circuits, ou de nouveaux bolides.
