The Dark Pictures games so far have set high bars in terms of story and production quality, and House of Ashes easily hits and even occasionally surpasses them. While I wasn’t so keen initially on one aspect of the tale, it turned around completely on a second play, but even to begin with it was nowhere near enough to ruin what is a fantastically acted and put together story, wrapped up in some of the most stunning audio visual work to date. Horror games are hardly in short supply, but very few reach this level of brilliance.

Voice of Cards est indéniablement plaisant à suivre, notamment grâce à son esthétique “jeu de plateau” franchement réussie. Toutefois, il ne parvient pas à pleinement engager le joueur dans son aventure, la faute à des combats trop simplistes et intrusifs. Il reste alors un jeu très joli, souvent drôle et agréable à parcourir, mais malheureusement ponctué de moment d'ennuis.

Project Zero ritorna sulle nuove console con un’edizione definitiva. Nuovi costumi, una modalità foto e un comparto tecnico rinnovato. Quest’ultimo ne ha migliorato notevolmente il colpo d’occhio, complice una risoluzione maggiore ed alcuni effetti migliorati (oltre che i 60fps). Resta comunque un titolo nato su Wii U, con tutte le imperfezioni e pochezze che ne derivano. Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water è un horror interessante, diviso tra un’anima arcade e survival horror. Narrativamente intrattiene ma a fasi alterne, a causa di alcune scelte che ne minano il ritmo e la caratterizzazione dei personaggi. Il terrificante universo del Monte Hikami resta affascinante e spaventoso, con un gusto per l’horror tipicamente orientale che non viene spesso raccontato nei videogiochi. Peccato per il vizio di Tecmo Koei di cedere al fan service, rendendo le sue protagoniste un po’ troppo “bamboline”. C’è più dignità e spessore nei fantasmi che infestano il Monte Hikami, tra una foto e l’altra.

Cumple con las expectativas de lo que es un buen juego, tiene calidad y no presenta fallos graves, aunque le faltan elementos que podrían haberlo llevado a cotas más altas.

Un prodotto che poteva essere un capolavoro memorabile, se solo la cura e l'attenzione dedicate nel ricreare i mecha fosse stata dedicata anche ad assicurarsi che il comparto strategico fosse in grado di rappresentare un buon livello di sfida. Allo stato attuale è estremamente difficile raccomandare l'acquisto se non per chi è davvero un amante dei cartoni rappresentati nel gioco. Tutti gli altri possono trovare giochi di strategia a turni migliori.

Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water is a uniquely thrilling horror experience. Armed with only a camera and your wits, the tension is palpable and oozes out of every nook and cranny of Mt. Hikami and the surrounding areas. The camera serves to be as trusty of a weapon as a gun and adds a distinct tension to the action that few games could replicate. The atmosphere, level design, and story all work in tandem to create a surprisingly tense and beautiful experience, despite relying a bit too much on backtracking and having a rather thin story.

Mantiene el tétrico encanto de la saga y ofrece hitos interesantes, pero no consigue ocultar lo anticuado de su nivel técnico y de algunos desafíos. Si quieres un survival horror sin más miramientos, es satisfactorio.
