Trials of Fire is a new legend for single-player strategy. Combining all the best of tactical board game combat, deck-building, and narrative, this game is a contender for best roguelikes available right now. It does have some flaws that keep me from recommending it categorically, but nothing that overwhelms the depth of strategy at play here. I have long been starved as a fan of turn-based combat, and Trials of Fire has finally erupted from the depths of the earth to satisfy that need.

In Conclusion, Crash Drive 3 is a stellar game to play with friends as the events will be more competitive. The more the merrier, but it does provide the option to play solo if you’re just working on earning cash or wins. The cross-platform system works and I’ve managed to play with players from all systems while I was on Xbox. There are small issues like the simplistic design of textures or lack of music variety when playing the game, but those can be overlooked when playing with friends and laughing about the ridiculously fun events that are random. They only ensure no repeats occur so it could be a while before seeing your favorite event show up. It would be amazing if M2H adds a playlist function in the game or allow to choose the game modes. I disliked the beach ball event when alone, but some events are easier with different cars and the game was created to play with others. The visuals and audio may be lacking in quality, but the game shines when performing stunts. Playing on the Moon map allows to perform harder tricks, so I’m sure the Stunt event will be a fun challenge in a full lobby. The maps aren’t gigantic, but are filled with Easter eggs and fun collectibles. Crash Drive 3 is a wonderful idea of a game and plays with no major issues. The game is a wonderful addition to the series and the hard work invested by the team shows. Lovers of goofy arcade racers will enjoy.

The Silver Case 2425 è in arrivo il 9 luglio 2021 su Nintendo Switch, ed offre due interessanti avventure ideate da Goichi Suda e risalenti originariamente al 1999 ed al 2005. Una occasione d’oro per gli amanti del grande artista giapponese per recuperare le due opere, che hanno avuto una pubblicazione travagliata. In una sola cartuccia gioco sono riunite entrambe, localizzate in inglese ed ottimizzate graficamente da un soft remake realizzato col motore Unity. Una trama appassionante, una colonna sonora intrigante ma un sistema di controllo poco intuitivo, oltre al fatto di appartenere ad un genere di nicchia, ovvero le controverse Visual Novel. Un titolo non per tutti, ma che raggiunge vette artistiche elevate e potrebbe diventare uno dei pezzi più pregiati della vostra collezione.

Oui, Monster Hunter Stories 2 a toutes les cartes en main pour être le J-RPG de ce début d'été. Grâce à son système de combat original et riche, son contenu généreux et ses graphismes charmants, le titre propose une expérience agréable qui a de quoi vous occuper pendant une partie de vos vacances. Face à cette proposition intéressante, on peut lui reprocher son scénario très, voire trop classique, ainsi que sa technique qui ne parvient pas toujours à offrir un rendu stable. En soi, pas de quoi gâcher cette invitation au voyage qui brille par l'originalité de ses affrontements et la bonne humeur qu'elle dégage.

Suda51 staat gekend als iemand die dingen prettig gestoord houdt, maar in The Silver Case gaat de man een stapje verder dan hij in gelijk welk andere toekomstige van zijn games ging. Het verhaal is gefragmenteerd en vaak verwarrend, de visuals zijn vreemd maar interessant, de gameplay slechts miniem aanwezig en doorgaans een karwei om af te werken, de personages zijn niet bepaald charmant, maar daardoor wel des te echter. Het beste deel aan de game is met gemak de muziek en sound design, maar doorgewinterde visual novel liefhebbers en noir-fans zullen deze titel vast smaken.

The Silver Case 2425 è una raccolta non solo di difficile fruizione, quantomeno per quanti non siano familiari con le stranezze tipiche di Suda 51 e con le particolari tecniche narrative legate a queste due visual novel, ma anche di difficile valutazione, perché, se da un lato offre due buoni titoli a meno di quaranta euro, dall'altro non include alcun miglioramento né extra degni di nota, a dimostrazione di una certa pigrizia nel confezionamento del pacchetto. Esattamente come ai tempi della prima pubblicazione, allora, queste due avventure sapranno dividere il pubblico, tra chi si innamorerà perdutamente dei risvolti malati delle due storyline e dell'ambientazione e chi reputerà sorpassate le fasi di giocato e poco stimolanti i puzzle. Se amate il genere, il consiglio è comunque di dare una possibilità a questa compilation, che porta in dote un marchio autoriale ben distinto e godibile; per tutti gli altri, invece, potrebbe convenire avvicinarsi alle visual novel partendo da titoli meno complessi ed oscuri, di cui la libreria di Nintendo Switch abbonda.

The Silver Case 2425 è una visual novel strana e angosciante, che chiede un certo impegno per essere seguita e compresa. Il gameplay è ridotto all’osso, saranno i testi a fare la maggior parte del lavoro e a voi non resterà che seguirli – o provarci, considerata la necessità di un inglese sopra la media che verrà comunque messa alla prova. Atmosfera e personaggi funzionano, se si riesce a coglierli, il ritmo è discreto e per chi conosce l’autore non è difficile coglierne l’essenza nel corso di entrambe le esperienze. Va detto che, se già ne siete consapevoli, allora avrete anche avuto modo di giocare The Silver Case e The 25th Ward: The Silver Case a loro tempo. La remaster per Nintendo Switch è molto minimale e dalla sua dimostra di avere solo il vantaggio della portabilità: per il resto, la mancata localizzazione in italiano e il prezzo non la favoriscono.
