Dustborn is a single-player, story-driven action-adventure game about hope, love, friendships, robots…and the power of words. You play Pax: exile, con-artist, Anomal — with the ability to weaponize language. Looking for a new life and a way out, Pax has been hired to transport an important package from Pacifica to Nova Scotia, across the Justice-controlled American Republic. Sounds like a legit reason for a road-trip, right? So pack your bags, assemble a crew with their own peculiar powers, and get ready to travel the country! Explore the stunning Neo-Western landscapes of an alternate history America on a robot-driven tour bus, and stop at a dozen locations along the road to build your crew, manage relationships, complete missions, and face increasingly difficult challenges. But the people you stole the package from want it back, and the authoritarian Justice is hot on your heels, so don’t forget to pack your baseball bat! (And, oh yeah, you’re travelling undercover as a punk-rock band, so you’ll definitely need to brush up on your musical skills before your next gig.) At the end of the road lies salvation…but to get there, you’ll need to cross an entire continent.

Mika and the Witch's Mountain Mika and the Witch's Mountain è un piacevole e delicato racconto su una piccola streghetta che insegue il suo sogno e delle difficoltà che dovrà superare per farcela. Un titolo leggero e sognante, graziato da una direzione artistica toccante tanto nell'estetica quanto nella colonna sonora. Il coraggio di creare un titolo senza risvolti action bensì ancorato unicamente ad un gameplay loop semplice e rilassante non può essere sottovalutato. Tuttavia, le particolarità della produzione ne rappresentano al contempo i suoi stessi limiti, a causa di problemi di pacing (e di controlli) che potrebbero compromettere l'engagement del pubblico. Dedicato ai più giovani nonché a chi ha voglia di rilassarsi senza pensare troppo a meccaniche ludiche complesse e difficoltà proibitive. Avec Control, Remedy a mis en place un univers aussi vaste qu’atypique dont l’exploitation via des extensions était plus que prévisible. De surcroît, en annonçant la mise en place d’un univers partagé avec Alan Wake et ses potentielles futures licences, le studio avait toutes les cartes en main pour nous proposer de réjouissantes expériences. Malheureusement, le résultat final est plutôt mitigé. Tout en étant agréables à parcourir, La Fondation et EMA s’avèrent être des compléments paresseux à bien des égards. Loin d’être indispensables, ces DLC auraient mérité de bénéficier d’un soin plus approfondi sur leur narration et leur gameplay, dont les spécificités restent relatives. À réserver à ceux qui souhaitent réellement prolonger leur expérience sur Control, voire à ceux qui souhaitent profiter d’une mise en bouche sur une potentielle suite à Alan Wake dans le cas de la deuxième extension.

As GameScience’s debut action game, Black Myth: Wukong is mostly a great success, despite some major technical black marks and localization issues that are likely to cause some frustrations at launch. Combat is fantastic thanks to a great balance of careful resource management and lightning-fast, twitch-reaction gameplay that tested my skills as much as Elden Ring ever has, despite being a more traditional action game than FromSoftware’s style. Not only that, but there are a ton of exciting boss battles, a great variety of enemies, and the world they inhabit is an absolute treat for the eyes and ears. Its story has its moments but relies a bit too much on having prior knowledge of the events of Journey to the West, and it really could have used a map to make its rewarding exploration measure up to the strength of its combat. That said, its strengths more than carry it through, making Black Myth: Wukong a great action game that could be even greater if GameScience can squash the bugs.

Il aura pris son temps pour sortir sur nos consoles mais quel dommage cela aurait été de passer à côté de Kena: Bridge of Spirits. Même s'il adopte une majorité de mécaniques de gameplay assez classique, le jeu d'Ember Lab a le mérite d'exceller dans tous les domaines qu'il propose, tout en offrant aux joueurs une aventure qui invite clairement à découvrir le monde emprunt de magie du studio californien. Une pépite confirmée, à classer au panthéon des jeux indépendants.

Derrière ce road trip au design Comics se cache une histoire à la fois critique de nos sociétés, mais également du regard des autres et de la quête de soi. Si une de ces thématiques ne vous intéresse pas ou pire encore vous refroidit au plus haut point, passez votre chemin. Car Dustborn ne pourra captiver autrement que pas son histoire tant sa technique n'est pas au niveau et son gameplay, bien que diversifié, ne brille sous aucune de ses formes. Il restera un bon jeu narratif, qui ne marquera malheureusement que celles et ceux se retrouvant dans l'évolution de ces personnages.
