Infinite – Beyond the Mind undoubtedly draws from the classics. It’s clear developer Emilie Coyo studied the pantheon of action-platforming and pursued the exhilarate of a being a powerful protagonist who is capable to annihilating complete armies. There are enough issues that prevent the game from joining this elite tier of genre greats. But none of these blemishes are bad enough to bypass the title.

911 Operator really misses the mark. It’s a good attempt at showing what a 911 operator may do, but you’re effectively playing a mobile game on the Switch for the cost of a PC game. That $22 price point is a bit excessive, especially since various bugs and quality-of-life issues you’ll get are really frustrating to deal with on the Switch.

Doté d'un univers ravissant, d'une atmosphère paisible et d'une philosophie à mi-chemin entre 4X et city-builder, Before We Leave récite avec discipline les mécaniques inhérentes aux genres dont il s'inspire et jouit d'un concept intéressant qui peine cependant à exprimer son plein potentiel. Une fois la conquête spatiale accomplie et l'arbre technologique rempli, Before We Leave peine à retenir le joueur qui se contentera de répéter les mêmes mécaniques d'une planète à l'autre, sans véritable stimulation autre que celle de créer la chaîne de production parfaite. Agréable pour une poignée d'heure et à proposé à petit prix, Before We Leave reste une expérience agréable qui manque cependant un peu d'envergure sur le long terme.

Cloudpunk punta tutto sul world building e vince creando una città, Nivalis, visivamente stratosferica, tanto nel macro quanto nel micro. Architetture pazzesche e quartieri fatiscenti fanno da sfondo a misteri neo-noir raccontati attraverso personaggi ben scritti, alcuni indimenticabili, altri semplicemente caratteristici. Nel suo gameplay lineare, tra spostamenti in auto anti-gravitazionali e passeggiate nelle zone pedonali, senza combattimenti o grandi variazioni sul tema, l’opera Ion Lands trova la sua quadratura, una pace ludica che rilassa i pollici e stimola la mente con le sue mille suggestioni. Uno spaccato cyberpunk che non affronta temi nuovi e non li approfondisce come avrebbe potuto (ma probabilmente non averlo fatto è stata una scelta precisa), facendoci vivere una notte lunga e folle nei panni di un corriere espresso in balia degli eventi, che osserva tutto con sguardo cinico e grande umanità.

The Turing Test hat mir schon auf den anderen Plattformen richtig gut gefallen – und die Variante für Stadia bildet dank der gelungenen Umsetzung keine Ausnahme. Der Rätselanspruch hält sich zwar in Grenzen und dürfte für Knobel-Experten bis auf wenige Ausnahmen keine allzu großen Hürden darstellen. Trotzdem sind die meisten Testkammern ansprechend designt und prima auf die Möglichkeiten der gelungenen Spielmechanik zugeschnitten, auch wenn Kleinigkeiten wie die fummelige Positionierung von Objekten hin und wieder nerven. Aber ich mag die Atmosphäre und die philosophisch angehauchten Dialoge zwischen Ava und der KI, die mich bis zum Ende gut unterhalten haben. Die stärksten Momente bleiben wie immer solche, in denen man erst ideenlos und fast schon verzweifelt Dinge ausprobiert, bis irgendwann der Groschen mit dem Aha-Erlebnis fällt. Diese sind leider etwas zu selten und auch das Fehlen einer Bedrohung macht The Turing Test eher zu einem entspannten Rätselspaziergang durch die Basis auf dem Saturnmond Europa, wobei der interessante Schauplatz kaum zur Geltung kommt. Der Weg zum Award bleibt dem Spiel zwar auch auf Stadia versperrt, weil sich neben alten Schwächen auch neue wie die unangenehme Steuerung mit Maus und Tastatur sowie leichte Darstellungsprobleme beim mobilen Spielen dazu gesellen. Aber wer eine kleine Beschäftigung für seine grauen Zellen sucht oder erste Knobel-Erfahrungen im Stil von Portal & Co sammeln möchte, bekommt mit The Turing Test ein durchaus unterhaltsames Rätselspiel, das für Pro-Abonnenten für Googles Streamingservice zudem kostenlos angeboten wird.

The concept of the story had me excited to play, but gameplay wise it didn’t live up to its potential. I didn’t enjoy Blind Men, it’s an adventure novel that would have been better served as a book. A lack of voice acting took me out of the immersion, and the music was very off putting. Multiple endings are a little saving grace, but that’s even if you want to go through it more than once.
