If you’ve got a taste for Atlus’ brand of unique, abstract JRPGs and never played Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE on the Wii U, this Encore performance is a must-see. Even if you have, there are some pretty compelling reasons to come back a second time, especially because the Switch is such a great way to experience the game. This one is a real crowd-pleaser.

Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore bietet auch auf Switch gute Rollenspiel-Unterhaltung, bei der vor allem Fans von Shin Megami Tensei und Persona auf ihre Kosten kommen. Inhaltlich wurde das Anime-Abenteuer nicht nur um separat erschienene DLCs des Wii-U-Originals, sondern auch um komplett neue Inhalte erweitert. Neben frischen Geschichten und Schauplätzen, wie den EX-Storys oder dem „Area of Aspiration“-Dungeon gibt es auch zusätzliche Verbündete, Outfits, Songs, Skills und Items. Außerdem lässt sich die Minimap jetzt in den Dungeons einblenden, während schnellere Ladezeiten und Kampfanimationen für ein flotteres Spielerlebnis sorgen. Die Grafik wirkt trotz nach wie vor sehenswerter Anime-Einspielungen allerdings deutlich angestaubt, der Verzicht auf Touch-Unterstützung ist unbegreiflich. Im Handheld-Modus ist auch die mitunter sehr kleine Schrift problematisch. Zudem gibt es nach wie vor weder eine englische Tonspur noch deutsche Untertitel – französische hingegen schon. Genrefans, die damit kein Problem haben, sollten aber auf jeden Fall zuschlagen, auch wenn der Award nach wie vor verwehrt bleibt…

Se siete amanti del genere horror – o, per essere più precisi, dei thriller – Stories Untold è una piccola perla. “Piccola” come dimensioni, non certo come valore: l’esperienza si conclude nel giro di due o tre ore, ma è perfettamente in linea con il costo contenuto (9,99€ anche per la versione Switch) e non dà mai l’idea di essere frettoloso o poco sviluppato. Gli episodi sono ben costruiti, con una narrazione che sa come sfruttare l’interattività del medium videoludico per obbligare il giocatore a confrontarsi con la propria paura, ricordando quanti modi abbiano i videogiochi per raccontare a modo loro delle storie interessanti e coinvolgenti, senza essere costretti a fare il verso alla macchina da presa.

Super Crush KO is a pleasant throwback to the glory days of the beat 'em up. The action is fast and fluid, and the visuals are charming and endearing. It's also a throwback in a bad way, though, as the lack of replay value and barebones story would feel right at home at an arcade.

Super Crush KO is good clean, robot-bashing fun. With easy controls and gradually increased difficulty, it's a great way to get into the genre. (Review Policy)
