Like a popcorn popping Hollywood blockbuster, My Friend Pedro offers a bullet-bonanza ballet that’s hard to ignore thanks to its slick moves, combining a great sense of fast food action gameplay that escalates in challenge as you grow accustomed to the many flourishes it adds throughout. Regrettably the characterisation and story falls short, but in all likelihood these fundamentals won’t matter if you’re looking for an action-packed thrill ride, and boy does My Friend Pedro offer that in spades. If you demand something more in-depth or intricate you won’t find it here, but everyone else will find that My Friend Pedro scratches an impulsive itch that’s able to impress with its penchant for grace and unabashed style.

Darksiders: Genesis is an action/adventure that tears its way through hordes of demons, angels, and everything in-between on its way to Hell and back with guns blazing and swords swinging. Genesis gives players their first look at the world of Darksiders before the events of the original game, as well as introduces the horseman Strife. (via Metacritic)

SuperEpic: The Entertainment War lays its feelings out for all to see on the current state of the big buck chasing corporate side of the game industry. That it does so with enough wit and entertainment factor is commendable; it would have been easy to fall on the wrong side of parody. The core gameplay is fun and engaging, the art is fantastic and – odd typo aside – the writing manages to get the message across in an entertaining way. Undercoders perhaps lent a little too heavily on the MetroidVania aspects with a hard to read map and even harder to keep track of side missions, but overall I had a blast with SuperEpic.

Titeuf Mega Party a beau être le recyclage d'un vieux jeu de 2004, il n'en reste pas moins un bon défouloir, surtout à plusieurs, qui respecte à la fois les codes de la licence et ceux du genre. La prise en main est immédiate, les nombreux défis tous aussi débiles, régressifs et réjouissants les uns que les autres. Et même si la technique apparaît logiquement datée, les petits comme les grands ont de quoi passer un moment convivial en compagnie de la bande à Titeuf.

MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries is a shooter with a considerable degree of customization, set in an alluring but static universe, with combat being its central and redeeming feature. The action tends to be generally fun and satisfying, although framed around repetitive missions. The missed opportunities are obvious - such as greater depth to your company’s management, or having a tangible impact on the game world.

Doctor Who: The Edge of Time VR è un titolo che di certo non sarà ricordato come uno degli esperimenti migliori per VR (anzi), ma nonostante tutto è una esperienza che i fan della serie TV dovrebbero provare. Non ci sono meccaniche particolari o nulla che non si sia già visto in VR, e il gioco punta tutto sul fan-service gettando i giocatori in un calderone di citazioni e momenti simili a quelli che abbiamo sempre visto sul piccolo schermo. Potete pensare a Doctor Who: The Edge of Time VR come un enorme episodio speciale in attesa della nuova stagione, motivo per cui si tratta di un titolo rivolto unicamente ai fan hardcore del Dottore: se rientrate in questa categoria il gioco potrebbe riservare qualche sorpresa, altrimenti il panorama della realtà virtuale offre di meglio.
