Prenant pour qui apprécie les dialogues à choix et les univers de Tornquist, Dustborn n'est pas sans défauts, mais le combat de ses personnages résonne plus encore aujourd'hui que celui des Invisibles de Morrison à leur époque.

Overall, it was enjoyable to watch the relationships between the characters unfold. However, the prologue soured it early on for me, as it felt a bit too overexaggerated. The conversations and getting to explore new environments were some of the best parts of Dustborn, while I unfortunately found the combat system to be a little lacking in places. Still, the idea for this game is incredibly unique and one that I really enjoyed.

Après une première approche compliquée, Black Myth Wukong nous a ouvert ses portes (littéralement) et on doit dire qu’on aurait été déçu de passer à côté de son aventure. Soutenu par l’un des gameplay les plus grisants de ces dernières années, le jeu de Game Science nous offre un défi savamment dosé qui nous donne envie d’en découvrir plus à chaque fois. Pas si linéaire que cela en fin de compte, le périple du Prédestiné aurait cependant gagné à être plus concis et à gommer ses portions les plus étendues pour se concentrer sur l’essentiel. Quoi qu’il en soit, pour cette grande première, le jeu honore sa promesse en termes d’immersion, de système de jeu et de divertissement, même si on regrette le manque de rythme, la redondance du level design et quelques légers défauts. Les créateurs de Black Myth Wukong ont fait parler leur science : la formule n’est pas parfaite mais l’alchimie opère !

Black Myth: Wukong è un titolo che cattura l'attenzione per la sua grafica impressionante e il fascino della mitologia cinese, ma nonostante l'esperienza visiva e un combat system promettente, soffre di diversi problemi che gli impediscono di eccellere. Il mondo di gioco, seppur bellissimo, risulta vuoto e privo di profondità, con un level design lineare che limita l'esplorazione. Il sistema di combattimento, basato su schivate e contrattacchi, mostra presto i suoi limiti a causa di una gestione delle collisioni imperfetta e un'intelligenza artificiale poco brillante, rendendo alcune battaglie ripetitive e frustranti. Siamo lontani dall'attenzione ludica (e non) di un qualsiasi gioco From, se vogliamo usare un termine di paragone. Il titolo di Game Science rimane quindi un prodotto incompleto, che avrebbe beneficiato di un ulteriore periodo di rifinitura, e che non riesce ad eguagliare la cura ai dettagli dei suoi diretti concorrenti. Un diamante grezzo, insomma.

Mika and the Witch's Mountain Mika and the Witch's Mountain è un piacevole e delicato racconto su una piccola streghetta che insegue il suo sogno e delle difficoltà che dovrà superare per farcela. Un titolo leggero e sognante, graziato da una direzione artistica toccante tanto nell'estetica quanto nella colonna sonora. Il coraggio di creare un titolo senza risvolti action bensì ancorato unicamente ad un gameplay loop semplice e rilassante non può essere sottovalutato. Tuttavia, le particolarità della produzione ne rappresentano al contempo i suoi stessi limiti, a causa di problemi di pacing (e di controlli) che potrebbero compromettere l'engagement del pubblico. Dedicato ai più giovani nonché a chi ha voglia di rilassarsi senza pensare troppo a meccaniche ludiche complesse e difficoltà proibitive. Avec Control, Remedy a mis en place un univers aussi vaste qu’atypique dont l’exploitation via des extensions était plus que prévisible. De surcroît, en annonçant la mise en place d’un univers partagé avec Alan Wake et ses potentielles futures licences, le studio avait toutes les cartes en main pour nous proposer de réjouissantes expériences. Malheureusement, le résultat final est plutôt mitigé. Tout en étant agréables à parcourir, La Fondation et EMA s’avèrent être des compléments paresseux à bien des égards. Loin d’être indispensables, ces DLC auraient mérité de bénéficier d’un soin plus approfondi sur leur narration et leur gameplay, dont les spécificités restent relatives. À réserver à ceux qui souhaitent réellement prolonger leur expérience sur Control, voire à ceux qui souhaitent profiter d’une mise en bouche sur une potentielle suite à Alan Wake dans le cas de la deuxième extension.

As GameScience’s debut action game, Black Myth: Wukong is mostly a great success, despite some major technical black marks and localization issues that are likely to cause some frustrations at launch. Combat is fantastic thanks to a great balance of careful resource management and lightning-fast, twitch-reaction gameplay that tested my skills as much as Elden Ring ever has, despite being a more traditional action game than FromSoftware’s style. Not only that, but there are a ton of exciting boss battles, a great variety of enemies, and the world they inhabit is an absolute treat for the eyes and ears. Its story has its moments but relies a bit too much on having prior knowledge of the events of Journey to the West, and it really could have used a map to make its rewarding exploration measure up to the strength of its combat. That said, its strengths more than carry it through, making Black Myth: Wukong a great action game that could be even greater if GameScience can squash the bugs.

Providing some high quality scares and morbidly curious gameplay, The Mortuary Assistant is a good horror game held back by an undercooked port to consoles that can create more frustration than fun.

Elrentaros Wanderings’ core tension comes from its depiction of parallel worlds and the uncertainty of which one is real. But time spent in both realms proves uninteresting, with monotonous combat in one and insubstantial exposition in the other. There’s a very real sense of dread when the game asks you to repeatedly descend into its insipid dungeons.

Black Myth Wukong è un'esperienza originale e soddisfacente. Il prodotto di Game Science è un titolo che fa dello splendido setting e di un sistema di combattimento funzionale e convincente i suoi cavalli di battaglia, slegandosi dai paragoni con altri illustri esponenti del filone “hardcore” e ritagliandosi uno spazio proprio con personalità e competenza. Permangono alcuni dubbi circa il bilanciamento di alcuni incontri e la registrazione non sempre accurata dei colpi, ma se - come sembra - Wukong sarà solo il primo tassello nel mosaico della saga di Black Myth, non vediamo l'ora di vedere quali meraviglie questo team avrà in serbo per noi in futuro.
