Warhammer 40.000: Rogue Trader è un gioco di ruolo ben fatto, che diventa imprescindibile se si ama lo scenario di riferimento. C'è davvero tutto quello che serve per coinvolgere il giocatore dall'inizio fino alla fine, tra scelte da compiere, diversi personaggi da gestire e un sistema di combattimento davvero gustoso, con anche degli spunti originali dati dall'ambientazione. Purtroppo è anche un titolo ostico per chi non mastica il mondo di Warhammer 40.000, che faticherà non poco a comprendere certi concetti e a seguire alcuni passaggi. Diciamo che questo non è il punto di ingresso più semplice nella mitologia creata da Games Workshop. Infine, è giusto sottolineare anche la mancanza della traduzione in italiano, che rende il gioco fruibile solo da chi conosce molto bene l'inglese, considerando la complessità di alcuni dialoghi e la mole degli stessi. Non prendetelo come un vero e proprio difetto, ma più che altro come un avviso.

With the great amount of love for the setting that was poured into the game evident from every line of dialogue and every little detail, Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is one of the best games based on the universe created by Games Workshop, and a solid tactical turn-based role-playing game that can provide hundreds of hours of fun. However, while the lack of innovation isn't a major setback thanks to its high-quality campaign, the presence of bugs and frustrating mechanics prevents it from being a must-have for all RPG enthusiasts, limiting its appeal beyond Warhammer 40,000 and Owlcat Games fans.

Rogue Trader is a fantastic narrative embracing the satire, the self-importance, and the pompousness of the Warhammer 40K world. The turn-based combat is not quite a fully fledged but that doesn’t take away from it being a must play.

Rogue Trader tient toutes ses promesses et propose tout ce qu'on peut attendre d'un RPG dans le vaste univers de Warhammer 40 000. Une ambiance sombre, choix nombreux et cruels, d'excellents compagnons, l'exploration de la galaxie et de ses dangers, de bons combats tactiques et même des batailles spatiales plutôt réussies. La réalisation est assez bonne aussi pour un jeu du genre, mais il est loin d'être grand public, avec beaucoup de texte à lire d'un côté et une progression intimidante des personnages qui peut décourager. Notre plus gros regret est que comme beaucoup d'autres jeux, Rogue Trader va probablement sortir plein de bugs dont la résolution prendra un moment.

Warhammer 40.000: Rogue Trader macht vieles richtig. Es bietet lange und doch abwechslungsreiche Spielzeit, viel zu entdecken, herausfordernde Kämpfe und eine durchaus spannende Story, die tief in die Mythologie von Warhammer 40k eingebettet ist. Dazu kommen ein ausrüstbares Raumschiff samt Kämpfen, Ruf-Fraktionen, unterschiedliche Helden mit Background-Storys und vieles mehr. In Sachen Quantität verdient sich Rogue Trader eine glatte Eins. Aber die arg spröde Erzählung, der Zwang, viel zu lesen statt es modern erklärt zu bekommen und die düstere Story, die sicher nicht jedermanns Geschmack trifft, werfen ein paar dunkle Flecke auf den Gesamteindruck. Dennoch überwiegen die positiven Aspekte deutlich. Für Taktik-Fans mit Rollenspiel-Herz ein spätes Jahres-Highlight!

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora has some excellent mechanical depth let down by repetitive missions and a very safe story. When you’re flowing through the environment taking out RDA soldiers with volleys of arrows, it feels fantastic. Unfortunately, the game doesn’t provide many opportunities to use the full breadth of its systems. Still, it’s drop dead gorgeous and very fun for what it is.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is a serviceable open world game elevated by a stunning presentation. While the visuals will utterly wow you, it's a shame it doesn't introduce more original ideas.

Avatar Frontiers of Pandora emerge con gran forza in un periodo dove forse gli occhi del pubblico sono puntati altrove, ma questo non preclude all’opera licenziata di Massive Entertainment e Ubisoft di dire la propria portando sul mercato un ottimo videogioco dedicato ai Na’vi che mancava da qualche tempo. La spettacolare direzione artistica traina fortemente l’opera in ogni suo frangente, che grazie alla fedeltà rispetto ai film restituisce un tie-in tra i più convincenti sul mercato. Il poco coraggio nel mettere in scena una trama più originale e profonda è tuttavia un leggero freno a ciò che avrebbe potuto essere un’avventura su Pandora del tutto priva di influenze narrative, ma che in ogni caso fa la sua parte senza infamia né lode. Il gameplay funziona, e l’ispirazione alla serie Far Cry non può che aver giovato ad una produzione imponente che ha comunque molto del suo, destinata a far sognare quasi esclusivamente i fan della filmografia impostata da James Cameron, che ne sapranno apprezzare ogni sfaccettatura.

Tienes motivos perfectamente entendibles para no estar demasiado entusiasmado con Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, pero Ubisoft ha demostrado con hechos que al menos lo ha recreado con un mimo y un respeto absolutos en colaboración estrecha con los productores de las películas originales. La región que exploramos es todo un regalo para la vista, es divertido navegar por ella y disfruta de un diseño de niveles bastante bien cuidado para los estándares del género, de modo que los que alguna vez soñaron con tener un na'vi propio con aventuras independientes tienen motivos de sobra para estar contentos. De haber tenido una campaña algo más potente y algunas mejoras de combate e interfaz, seguramente se hubiera vuelto en una visita obligada en el catálogo del editor.

Riche, complexe et relevé comme il se doit, ce RPG touffu constitue paradoxalement une excellente porte d'entrée vers l'univers de Warhammer 40K. Les fans en auront aussi pour leur argent.
