Thirsty Suitors’ heartfelt story of reconciliation and finding oneself offers intimate conversations that hit close to home. Its dramatic combat kept me engaged with a satisfying combination of turn-based actions and timing-based attacks, and its cooking even more so with the deep connections it earnestly put on display. It also confidently stars non-white characters in a way very few games even come close to, though it can try to say and do a little too much in this single package, making parts of the story feel rushed. But overall, Thirsty Suitors manages a great blend of hilarious antics and genuine conversations that will leave you thinking about your own relationships.

RoboCop: Rogue City is easily the best RoboCop game to date. That in itself isn’t exactly a high bar, but regardless of the quality of previous RoboCop games, the developers got this one right. They put a lot of time in studying the source material, cramming the game with references to the films. The story is interesting enough, but does suffer from uneven pacing. Spending time at the precinct between missions to attend to more mundane things can break the momentum, but does help make the character feel like an actual police officer and not just a rampaging killbot. The mix of exploration, conversation, detective work and shoot outs help make the game feel more cinematic which is appropriate since it’s essentially written as a sequel to RoboCop 2. In spite of the criticisms mentioned in the review, RoboCop: Rogue City is an enjoyable experience from beginning to end. As a continuation of RoboCop’s story Rogue City works well and is worthy of the time of any RoboCop fan.

RoboCop: Rogue City is a pitch-perfect throwback to the action movies of the ‘80s. It’s over-the-top violence with charm, largely well put together but rough on the edges. Most importantly, it's a fun way to spend time in a beloved fictional universe that doesn’t overstay its welcome. Blasting at goons as an unstoppable walking machine remains as extremely entertaining as it seemed on the big screen, thanks in part to an impressive commitment to capturing the look and feel of the original film. Mixing in elements like routine police work and side quests does a great job changing the pace, too. Even if it’s not the best example of visual fidelity, and prone to some bugs along the way, that love of RoboCop shines through. This is a solid B movie of a video game, which is exactly what the source material demands.

Robocop: Rogue City est une bonne adaptation en jeu vidéo de la trilogie originale. Avec une narration captivante, mais surtout une fidélité remarquable au matériau de base, Teyon a frappé juste et montre qu’il a du talent et de la passion quand il s’agit de retranscrire avec exactitude les licences cinématographiques de la fin du siècle dernier. Le studio arrive même à nous impressionner avec ses gunfights qui nous délivrent du pur fun, tout en nous faisant ressentir la puissance et la violence graphique de Robocop, qui s’offre par ailleurs un système d’amélioration solide. Seuls quelques soucis de game design et un relatif archaïsme dans la progression demeurent regrettables. Mais dans l’ensemble, Robocop: Rogue City coche presque toutes les cases de l’adaptation fidèle, et il ne lui manque qu’un peu plus de temps et de budget pour viser la lune. Au moins, on adore la reprise du thème musical principal, et surtout le retour de Peter Weller au doublage de notre héros de métal préféré.

Les Schtroumpfs 2 : Le Prisonnier de la Pierre Verte fait quasiment tout mieux que Mission Malfeuille, son prédécesseur. Plus joli, plus long et surtout plus intéressant dans ses phases de combats, le nouveau jeu d'OSome Studio propose une expérience de jeu intéressante, capable de satisfaire une tranche d'âge plus large grâce à ses trois modes de difficultés. On espère aussi que les bugs rencontrés feront l'objet d'un patch pour pouvoir profiter du titre à son plein potentiel.

RoboCop: Rogue City è quella che si potrebbe definire un'esperienza di gioco pensata a uso e consumo dagli appassionati del franchise cinematografico, da cui traspare una buona rievocazione dell'atmosfera violenta e oltre le righe che ha caratterizzato le pellicole cinematografiche con protagonista il robot simbolo degli anni Ottanta. Lo sparatutto di Teyon si accontenta quindi di piacere ai fan e meno a chi cerca un FPS di qualità, nonostante l'operato della software house polacca sia tutto sommato apprezzabile anche se costellato da diversi difetti. Tra questi, purtroppo, va segnalato anche un comparto grafico che non sfrutta al massimo l'Unreal Engine 5, complice anche un frame-rate tutt'altro che stabile e una resa dei volti e delle animazioni non di primo livello. In definitiva, RoboCop: Rogue City non può che essere un acquisto consigliato principalmente a chi conosce a memoria le battute della pellicola del 1987 e da chi, nonostante tutto, ha apprezzato anche i non memorabili seguiti e il reboot del 2014.

RoboCop Rogue City è frutto di un lavoro da parte degli sviluppatori di Teyon nel tentativo di migliorarsi rispetto ai lavori precedenti, ma il lavoro da svolgere è ancora lungo. Consci che il genere shooting non sia il loro cavallo di battaglia, hanno forse preferito diversificare l’offerta ludica e proporre soluzioni inconsuete, anche se non tutte implementate a dovere per ottenere un risultato ottimale. A conti fatti, questo titolo sembra metterci più a nostro agio quando deve far sentire il giocatore davvero nei panni di Alex Murphy, riprendendone gesti, battute e modus operandi, mentre pecca nei momenti in cui deve limitarsi al ruolo di concorrente per il trono degli FPS su console e PC. RoboCop Rogue City potrebbe segnare il punto di svolta nella carriera di Teyon, dal punto di vista delle ambizioni narrative? Una domanda che è giusto porsi, alla luce di questo titolo, soprattutto alla luce del vistoso miglioramento qui offerto e presentato, ma senza tralasciare la complessità delle costruzioni poligonali, animazioni facciali e ampiezza delle ambientazioni, accanto ad altre piccole problematiche non del tutto trascurabili.

Though an occasional lack of polish and size for size’s sake approach doesn’t always prove beneficial, a brilliant assortment of puzzles nestled amidst a thought-provoking but compelling narrative still grants The Talos Principle II status as a sequel well worth the near-decade wait. That Croteam can inject a surprising amount of smart designs into their puzzles, as much they can demonstrate a commendable level of maturity as to the writing and choices provided in their tale, proves that even after all these years, the team’s talents across an array of departments remains untainted. And in the sequel’s case, stronger than what came before. Mechanically and narratively stimulating throughout, The Talos Principle II is an accomplished follow-up that just might eclipse the 2014 original.

The Talos Principle 2 si distingue per la sua abilità di intrecciare gameplay e narrazione, creando un'esperienza di gioco che va oltre la semplice risoluzione di puzzle. La varietà e la complessità dei puzzle riflettono un design curato nei minimi dettagli, rendendo ogni sfida unica e gratificante, soprattutto grazie a una curva di difficoltà bilanciata con maestria. La componente narrativa e filosofica del gioco, però, è il vero pezzo forte. The Talos Principle 2 esplora temi filosofici ed etici con profondità e intelligenza, coinvolgendo il giocatore in riflessioni sul senso dell'umanità, sulla coscienza di sé e sul nostro ruolo nell'universo. Semplicemente straordinario.

Star Ocean: The Second Story R is, hands down, the best entry in the series, and one of the best remakes ever made. With the excellent combat reworking, massive slew of quality of life improvements and impressive 2D-HD visuals that make the game's simple yet engaging story and charming characters even more enjoyable, Gemdrops has set a very high bar for classic JRPGs remakes that will be very difficult to top.

A 25 anni dalla sua prima uscita su PlayStation, Square Enix ripropone in una nuova veste grafica, fortemente legata al passato, Star Ocean The Second Story R, il successo del 1998 di tri-Ace. Con una affascinante grafica che mescola ambienti 3D a personaggi in 2D, il gioco ci accompagna a scoprire le storie di Claude, un cadetto intergalattico teletrasportato per errore in un mondo medievaleggiante, e Rena, una ragazza alla ricerca del suo passato e del suo futuro. Due storie, due punti di vista tra cui dovremo scegliere quale seguire, che si fonderanno insieme in una storia avvincente costellata di personaggi carismatici e particolari. Una squadra che affronterà combattimenti diversi dagli scontri tipici dei GDR degli anni ’90. Liberi da turni, possiamo muoverci nell’area dello scontro, scegliendo e switchando tra i diversi membri del team. Dinamica originale a cui si unisce la possibilità di bloccare gli avversari parando al giusto istante il loro attacco o infrangendone la difesa. Combattimenti che purtroppo, anche nella modalità di sfida Normale, non risultano troppo impegnativi e a volte diventano eccessivamente confusionari, richiedendo in ogni caso una buona dose di strategia per valorizzare le abilità uniche di ogni personaggio. Star Ocean The Second Story R rimane in ogni caso un’avventura epica, che ha saputo innovare il settore dei GDR in passato e che torna oggi in una più che degna veste.
