Il gioco è ben strutturato e prevede un viaggio verso la Death Incorporation, azienda fondata da Morte per agevolare il passaggio delle anime nell'aldilà. I giocatori dovranno vestire i panni proprio del tristo Mietitore e aggirarsi tra i dipartimenti, sconfiggendo nemici e boss. Le palette a tinte grigie hanno un'ottima resa. I progressi fatti durante ogni partita vengono persi, tranne alcune eccezioni, che comprendono le ricompense e altri bonus fissi. I vari piani della Death inc. possono risultare ripetitivi, ma scorrono rapidamente sotto il mantello fluttuante di Morte, con nemici e boss sempre posizionati in attesa di attaccare.

Although this is a proficient port of Mitchell’s 1996 arcade title, the pricing feels prohibitive. As such, only the most fervent Strider fans should consider a purchase of Cannon Dancer – Osman until a sale arises. This six-stage jaunt is likable, at least until the last level, but it also feels inferior when measured against Capcom’s classic title.

Mile 0 is something of a pleasant surprise. The inclusion of Rides makes storytelling and decision-making riveting and fresh, underpinned by an insatiably likeable arcade hook. Mile 0 also boasts a greater focus on characters and relationships than the original, helped along by a pleasantly bite-sized price tag. The big dinger though, is that Rides can feel too on-rails for its own good despite its novel use in storytelling and decision-making. Mile 0 also fails to transmit the fervour of Rides to the rest of the experience-this despite some flashes of playful subversiveness and youthful hijinks present throughout. Ultimately Mile 0 can be softly recommended for what it does offer, but it is a lightweight entrée more than a transcendent main course-this one’s lacking the protein and bulk required to truly satisfy over the long haul.

Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection è una compilation un po' particolare perché una buona metà dei giochi proposti, specie nel secondo volume per chi si rivolge al digital download, è in effetti ridondante. Siamo piuttosto sicuri che la maggior parte dei giocatori difficilmente completerà lo stesso episodio in una versione e nell'altra, e in questo senso il costo di quella che è effettivamente un'ottima riproposta, sia nella forma che nei contenuti, può apparire inopportuno. Si tratta comunque di una compilation che raccoglie sei GDR longevi e curati che consigliamo di diluire nel tempo per non esasperare la sensazione di ripetitività dovuta alle forti somiglianze nel gameplay.

Una raccolta di giochi interessanti in caso vi affascini quel genere di videogame "à la Pokémon", stavolta caratterizzati però da un vivace sistema di combattimento basato su carte e completamente in tempo reale. La struttura di gioco resta però un po' obsoleta - specialmente per l'abuso di incontri casuali - e l'evoluzione fra i giochi titoli inclusi nella raccolta è davvero minima. Resta comunque un sistema di battaglie divertenti che potrebbe tenere alto il vostro interesse casomai vi "acchiappi": in quel caso ne avrete per qualche centinaio di ore, senza contare la nuova opzione di gioco online.

MegaMan Battle Network Legacy Collection is a neat package of 6 GBA titles with some interesting features that somewhat capture the appeal of the games. While it could do a lot more, the games themselves are good and the collection makes them easier to enjoy than ever.

Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection remains true to its original releases while adding a couple of appreciated additions to clean up some of its timewasters. We are of course talking about the Buster MAX Mode which makes getting through the random battles a lot more bearable. You can still play it as it was intended to be played, but having an escape feature be tied to RNG is not ideal. Outside of this and some accessibility options, not a whole lot has changed from the original games – there’s even its online functionality, allowing for multiplayer and trading. Each release is still as good as we remember them being, and considering you get upwards of ten games, it’s hard not to recommend this to new and old school players. Capcom is quickly running out of Mega Man games to remaster, with notable exclusions being Battle Network Transmission, Command Mission, Legends and Star Force, but they continue to release incredible value propositions that bring these classics to a brand new generation of players.

It's clear that a lot of effort and love went into Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection; this is a worthwhile re-release that gives you a lot of bang for your buck. While everyone will have their favorite, the Mega Man Battle Network series remained remarkably consistent throughout its whole run, due in no small part to the innovative battle system and charming storylines present in each entry. If you’re a fan of Mega Man and haven’t given these games a shot yet, you owe it to yourself to pick this one up immediately. Even if you’re not a Rockman enthusiast, these games each offer up some inventive RPG experiences that are certainly worth your time.

Capcom punta a far apprezzare a una nuova generazione di giocatori il lavoro fatto da Inafune un ventennio fa. Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection ripropone una decina di titoli ben curati e impreziositi da un comparto online, una modalità che rende gli scontri meno duri e una paio di chicche (le patch cards, per esempio) che i veterani del periodo Game Boy Advance/Nintendo DS apprezzeranno. Qualcuno si lamenterà per la mancanza di alcuni famosi spin-off, ma il pacchetto offerto mette sul piatto più di 200 ore di gioco (per completare davvero tutto dovrete investirne il doppio). Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection è insomma un'occasione imperdibile per riscoprire/recuperare una delle serie più sottovalutate del Game Boy Advance. L'unico dubbio riguarda il prezzo della raccolta che non è decisamente a buon mercato (59,90 euro per tutti gli episodi, 39,90 per uno dei due volumi disponibili).

Volume 1 of the Battle Network Collection has become the definitive experience for new and returning players. Battle Network 2 and 3 are some of the Blue Bomber’s best titles, and online play will make mastering them together the best they’ve ever been.
