Theatrhythm Final Bar Line is an utterly addictive, perfectly tuned celebration of all things Final Fantasy. It’s a deceptively simple-looking game that, once you get under the hood, you’ll discover it has teeth and demands practice and patience if you want to unlock everything. It gives back what you put into it, and we’re struggling to put it down even now. We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate the series’ 35th anniversary, and this makes it a must-buy for Final Fantasy fans and rhythm game enthusiasts. How other storied, sprawling game series’ haven’t followed suit with their own rhythm games is baffling when the results can be this magical.

The Theatrhythm series has always been a celebration of Final Fantasy and the iconic music associated with each title. Theatrhythm Final Bar Line continues that tradition by bringing together more titles, songs and characters onto consoles for the first time. The transition is nearly flawless, allowing Final Fantasy fans to experience some of the most iconic songs from each title in a fun, easy-to-play gameplay experience. It’s not perfect, though, with some titles getting more favor over others. Some exclusions are odd, particularly the absence of the critically-acclaimed Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker and the fact that a good number of iconic tunes are trapped behind premium deluxe editions is simply not OK. Past that, this is a successful transition from handheld to console with tight gameplay, plenty of content to unlock and a beautiful presentation backing it up. Theatrhythm Final Bar Line isn’t the perfect celebration of Final Fantasy, but it’s a great one.

Oui, Theatrhythm Final Bar Line est un jeu de niche. Il s’agit d’un jeu musical centré sur les compositions de la licence Final Fantasy ; la cible d’acheteurs est donc très précise. Mais, lorsqu’on parle des fans de Final Fantasy, cela fait déjà un bon paquet de portes-monnaies. Toutefois, ces fans « hardcore » seront-ils comblés ? Oui. Avec une liste gargantuesque de titres, une pléthore de collectibles et des personnages à faire évoluer, ce nouvel opus aura de quoi vous occuper pour de (très) nombreuses heures. Si l’on regrettera encore que certains titres ne soient que de simples extraits d’une mélodie plus longue, ainsi qu'un season pass bien trop important pour être mis de côté - augmentant par conséquent le prix « véritable » du titre -, force est de constater que la formule est ultra efficace si, et seulement si, vous êtes fan de Square Enix.

Theatrhythm Final Bar Line doit s’envisager comme une énorme et ultime mise à jour d’une richesse et d’une générosité remarquables. Avec encore plus d’épisodes couverts et de musiques, des mécaniques toujours efficaces, il saura hypnotiser les amoureux des jeux musicaux comme les fans de Final Fantasy. Une ode aux compositeurs qui ont bâti la réputation de la licence et un plaisir infini difficile à bouder. Un bis repetita qui happe tel un chant de sirènes.

SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake regala alla simpatica spugna di Nickelodeon una nuova incursione nel mondo dei platform 3D, a due anni e mezzo di distanza dal remake dell'amatissimo Battle for Bikini Bottom. Purple Lamp Studios realizza un prodotto solido e concreto, ricco di amore per il materiale di partenza, forte dell'umorismo tipico della serie d'animazione (grazie anche all'intervento dei doppiatori originali), di un gameplay classico e di una presentazione encomiabile. Sorprende, in un quadro così curato, notare alcune leggerezze legate alla gestione delle transizioni, a menù eccessivamente avari ed una curva di difficoltà troppo accomodante. The Cosmic Shake, al netto di qualche limite, è dunque un ottimo prodotto per i fan ma anche un piacevole e divertente titolo per tutti gli altri. A rousing mystery brought to life by a great voice cast and nuanced character writing can't really save Deliver Us Mars from its shortcomings. Poor technical performance during cutscenes and backstory that is too often delivered by these barely-differentiated mannequins make it difficult to get sucked into this extraterrestrial world. Even when it’s running smoothly, frustrating climbing and platforming mechanics are just a chore to get through so that you can reach the more clever puzzles and rewarding exploration that break up the annoyances with moments of wonder and satisfaction. But I could never shake the feeling that Deliver Us Mars simply bit off more dehydrated astronaut food than it could chew.

Hogwarts Legacy : L’Héritage de Poudlard ne loupe pas le coche et devrait donc combler de bonheur les fans de l’univers d’Harry Potter. La reproduction des lieux est incroyable, tout comme l’ambiance qui se dégage du jeu. Les nouveaux protagonistes sont réussis et l’histoire aussi intrigante que palpitante. Le gameplay quant à lui n’est pas en reste puisque l’expérience proposée par Avalanche est aussi réussie que classique. Classique, c’est aussi et surtout le reproche que l’on peut faire à ce jeu qui offre une expérience de qualité qui ne révolutionne pas le genre. Une expérience qui dépendra de votre sensibilité à l’univers dépeint par J.K. Rowling car pour peu que la magie vous laisse indifférent, il se pourrait qu’en dépit de ses indéniables qualités, elle n’opère pas sur vous.

It is such a pleasure to get a story experience such as A Space For The Unbound, with how welcoming its world is, with all of its intrigue and suspense that delivers well on the hype. And being a small team working on it like Toge Production is, they deserve all the plaudits. Get this game now, at full price, and you won’t be disappointed at all.

Hogwarts Legacy is, for better or worse, an entertaining and engaging game. By far the best digital version of the wizarding world, it offers a vast swathe of things to do. Even the more mundane elements (bandit camps!) are improved by a robust combat system that genuinely makes you feel like you're a part of the Harry Potter universe.

Hogwarts Legacy non è un nuovo Cyberpunk 2077, e i fan di Harry Potter che hanno dato fiducia al gioco anche prima del suo arrivo sugli scaffali troveranno pane per i loro denti. Proprio loro difficilmente rimarranno delusi da quanto offerto dal gioco. È pur vero che la vita scolastica, che a mio avviso poteva (e doveva) essere una delle parti centrali del gioco, è appena accennata. Come se non bastasse non ci sono meccaniche ruolistiche tali da modificare l'esperienza a seconda delle nostre scelte e del comportamento che decidiamo di tenere. Persino i talenti e gli incantesimi non sono poi così stratificati da rendere in qualche modo personalizzabile lo stile di gioco. Ciò nonostante l'esperienza messa in campo da Avalanche ci permette di vivere il Mondo Magico come mai prima d'ora. E anzi, è quasi palese che questo non sia altro che il primo passo nella direzione di una serie di videogiochi duratura e in grado di vendere milioni e milioni di copie. Certo è che se non siete particolarmente fan dell'universo nato dalla penna della Rowling, Hogwarts Legacy vi offrirà un'esperienza complessiva che non offre né particolari novità né tanto meno grossi guizzi creativi nella scrittura e nella narrazione.

In nearly every way, Hogwarts Legacy is the Harry Potter RPG I’ve always wanted to play. Its open-world adventure captures all the excitement and wonder of the Wizarding World with its memorable new characters, challenging and nuanced combat, and a wonderfully executed Hogwarts student fantasy that kept me glued to my controller for dozens of hours. It’s certainly weighed down by technical issues, a lackluster main story, and some poor enemy variety, but even those couldn’t come close to breaking its enchanting spell over me.

Hogwarts Legacy è, senza ombra di dubbio, la migliore restituzione del Mondo Magico che potessimo desiderare. Una dimostrazione della cura, dell'amore, dell'impegno e della conoscenza degli sviluppatori verso questo universo narrativo ricco e sempre aperto all'approfondimento. Già solo Hogwarts è di per sé un micromondo ricco di segreti da svelare, al quale poi si somma tutto il resto. Avalanche Software ha creato, seppur con qualche imperfezione qua e là, il giusto equilibrio tra storia e gameplay, valorizzando l'interazione con il mondo di gioco. L'esplorazione premia molto più di quanto non faccia la forza bruta. Per essere un'avventura scolastica, dubito si sarebbe potuto fare di più in termini di resa e atmosfera: se questo è l'esordio nel mondo "custom" di Harry Potter, ammetto che non vedo l'ora di vedere un eventuale progetto più adulto per temi e personaggi giocabili.
