Alice in Wonderland per Nintendo DS punta a un target di giocatori ancora più giovani rispetto alla versione per Wii e PC, e la cosa viene ampiamente dimostrata dalla linearità dell'avventura, nonché dalla sua brevità. Ci troviamo tuttavia di fronte a un prodotto per molti versi sorprendente, che fa di determinate scelte artistiche il proprio punto di forza e ci offre personaggi e scenari stravaganti e affascinanti, così come dovrebbe essere un videogioco ispirato all'opera di un regista visionario come Tim Burton. Scortare Alice nella sua avventura si rivela fin da subito cosa gradevole e spensierata, gli enigmi diventano man mano più complessi ma tutt'altro che impossibili e l'aumento dei personaggi controllabili non fa che rendere più varia l'azione. Alla fine dei conti si tratta di una bella esperienza per grandi e piccini, senz'altro da provare.

There are some occasional technical quirks and the game's never going to blow you away with big innovations you haven't already seen in a Rockstar game, but overall this is a capable clone that's well worth its price of just eight bucks.

Fragile Dreams is a great example of a spectacular concept whose execution could have used a little more thought and time. I love the premise, the setting, some of the characters, and the production values. The story is engrossing. Exploring the lush, beautiful environments in search of clues is fun. The flashlight controls and effects are really impressive. Even combat, in dire need of a lock-on, is functional. It really does have a lot going for it, and you'll see that reflected in the scores below. And yet, some of the design decisions and gameplay conventions are exceedingly tired and frustrating. The unnecessary, uninspired fetch quests, blatant backtracking and awkward item management system distract and subtract in a big way from what is otherwise a quality experience. If you fancy yourself an addict for Japanese adventure games, you will want to experience Fragile Dreams. But with some glaring issues that really overshadow the gameplay experience, there's just no way I can glowingly recommend the title, as much as I had hoped I could.

With Resident Evil 5, Capcom has broken away from many of the survival horror conventions it pioneered. The creepy suspense of the earlier games has been replaced with an action-packed intensity that will instantly appeal to some gamers and disappoint others. As an action game, RE5 is a success, and there’s a wealth of replayability through item collection, weapon upgrades, score chasing and the unlockable Mercenaries mode. But this is no gentle nudge to the formula of the previous main RE games; it’s an evolution. And if you can accept it as that, you just might love Resident Evil 5. The extra content packed in with the Gold Edition is just that: extra. It’s not essential, and you probably wouldn’t miss it if it wasn’t there. Its inclusion doesn’t necessarily make the Resident Evil 5 experience better or worse; it just extends it.

Délaissant l'originalité au profit d'une maîtrise totale du fond et de la forme, ce segment se présente comme un maillon essentiel de la destinée de Kratos et un nouveau palier à franchir pour qui oserait taquiner la création de Sony. Pendant ce temps, le spartiate surplombe un monde tout entier en attentant son jugement...
