Convergence propone un'offerta ludica sostenuta da un gameplay di buona fattura - al netto di qualche asperità - e da un sistema di progressione per strutturato, che nel corso delle ore arricchisce una formula che parte un po' col freno tirato. Malgrado tutto, giunti alla fine dell'avventura si ha la netta impressione che il team non sia riuscito ad esprimere al meglio il potenziale della propria visione creativa, complice una storia poco ispirata e ben meno efficace di quella vista in The Mageseeker. Al netto delle sue debolezze, però, il titolo rappresenta un'altra buona prova da parte di Riot Forge, in attesa di vedere il terzo e ultimo capitolo degli spin-off di League of Legends.

Planet of Lana è visibilmente frutto di un lavoro di sintesi, di sottrazione: lontano dall'essere un prodotto sovrabbondante nei suoi vari elementi, punta all'essenza, alla cura degli elementi che permettono a un'avventura narrativa di puntare all'eccellenza. Curatissimo dal punto di vista estetico e del design sonoro, il videogioco di Wishfully è reattivo, preciso e interessante nella costruzione degli enigmi. La storia non è di certo tra le più originali del genere, ma è raccontata in maniera impeccabile, anche grazie alla gestione puntuale degli elementi presenti negli scenari e a scelte di regia particolarmente riuscite. Consigliamo Planet of Lana senza riserve.

The fantastic part about Games Workshop allowing so many developers and publishers to create games based on the Warhammer license is that you end up with an unexpected surprise. Despite my lack of Warhammer 40,000 knowledge, I am absolutely looking forward to learning more about the series. While I admit the story is sparse, the overall aesthetic with Boltgun's outstanding level design and addicting gameplay kept me hooked. Chaos better look out, because Boltgun doesn't miss its shot.

Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun è una produzione ispirata, pienamente coerente con l'intenzione di portare la brutalità dell'immaginario del gioco di miniature in un boomer shooter tutto piombo e sangue. Dispensare morte è la cosa che funziona maggiormente, per merito di un gameplay soddisfacente quando si tratta di premere il grilletto, indipendentemente dall'arma impugnata e dalla quantità e varietà di nemici affrontati. La dimensione esplorativa appesantisce un po’ l’esperienza ludica, ma quando arriva il momento di ridurre i nemici a informi poltiglie rosse ci si pensa di meno.

The best boomer shooter I've played in a long time, Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun is weapons-grade catnip for genre fans and Warhammer 40,000 fans alike. Indeed in retrospect, crafting a retro style FPS in the Warhammer 40,000 universe feels like something we should have had long before now - so perfect is the fit of form and function. In the Warhammer 40,000 universe there is only war. Apparently there are also supremely great shooters too. Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun is a riotously violent and thoroughly entertaining shooter that everybody needs to play.

Si vous prenez After Us pour ce qu’il est au niveau narratif mais également au niveau artistique, vous ferez assurément une bonne pioche. Grâce à ses thèmes forts, marquants, magnifiquement mis en scène dans de terribles théâtres de désolation, la faute à une espèce humaine qui n’a pas su tirer la sonnette d’alarme de sa propre perte, le tout agrémenté d’une colorimétrie, mais aussi d’éclairages subtils mais parfaitement maitrisés, le studio Piccolo parvient à nous embarquer dans une sorte de jardin d’Eden satisfaisant. Mais malheureusement, si l’on considère l’œuvre dans son entièreté, et donc avec l’apport de sa technique au global, c’est un peu la douche froide pour le nouveau jeu des barcelonais (qui nous avaient pourtant habitués à l’excellence avec Arise: A Simple Story), qui s’offre à nous avec un nombre incalculable de carences techniques, surtout dans sa seconde moitié. Nul doute que tout ceci sera corrigé dans de futurs patchs à venir et cela ne dénigre en rien le message et l’attention portée au sens artistique du titre qui parvient à nous lancer en pleine figure ce que nous faisons de notre pauvre Terre au quotidien et ce vers quoi notre civilisation tend inexorablement.

Miasma Chronicles è un buon prodotto, un gioco solido, divertente e in grado di tenere compagnia per diverse ore. L'universo di gioco e la storia sono interessanti, nonostante manchi ad essi il carisma del mondo di Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden, ma l'avventura di Elvis e Diggs non mancherà di divertire gli appassionati dei giochi di ruolo strategici. Un po' di pulizia in più nell'interfaccia e nell'intelligenza artificiale e una scrittura un po' più brillante avrebbero consentito al gioco di 505 Games di fare quel salto di qualità che i tanti fan di The Bearded Ladies speravano. Ma siamo sicuri che le signore svedesi continueranno nel loro percorso evolutivo con successo.

Miasma Chronicles builds upon the success of Mutant Year Zero: Road To Eden, but maybe have taken the wrong lessons from Corruption 2029. The world-building and story are interesting for those who enjoy a good post-apocalypse setting. But the combat system, despite its solid foundation and brilliant use of stealth, is hampered by its weak choice of arsenal and undercooked UI. There’s still a decent game in there if you can brush off the shortcomings. If you don’t mind playing on an easier difficulty, Miasma Chronicles is a decent RPG-tactical-strategy romp.
