Shattered Memories è realmente una reinterpretazione di Silent Hill. Ancora non sappiamo se si tratta di un nuovo inizio, di una strada che verrà battuta ancora (magari anche su console HD) o di un episodio tanto sperimentale quanto isolato, fatto sta che il prodotto confezionato con maestria e talento da Climax ci offre un'esperienza unica per atmosfera, coinvolgimento e qualità narrativa. Il gioco è davvero pieno di spunti, di soluzioni affascinanti e innovative, e si pone come un'avventura oscura e avvincente più che come un tradizionale survival horror, visto che il protagonista si trova più volte a fuggire dall'incubo ma è realisticamente incapace di fermarsi a combatterlo. L'uso del Wii-mote appare intelligente e preciso per quanto concerne le fasi esplorative e l'interazione con l'ambiente, ma durante le sequenze più frenetiche la rilevazione di movimento non eccelle e mostra il fianco a qualche tentennamento di troppo, per fortuna arginabile dosando bene i gesti. Un titolo adulto e per molti versi "alternativo", in definitiva; forse viziato da una durata limitata ma certamente meritevole di grande attenzione.

I totally understand that Endless Ocean has its fans, but I can't say in the exact same club. I appreciate what the game does and how well the game does it, but the overarching concept just never resonated with me with the same impact it had on other reviewers. Still, for a game that encourages casual exploration and marine appreciation, Endless Ocean's a nice change of pace.

Sega riesce bene nell'intento di fornire un buon racing game arcade sulla falsariga di Mario Kart, contando anche sulla scarsità di titoli di spessore in questo particolare sotto-genere sulle piattaforme non-Nintendo, con tanta roba da sbloccare e abbondanza di offerta ludica sia in singolo che in multiplayer. Nel vivo del gioco ci si perde più nella confusione dei mille colori, delle esplosioni e delle armi spesso non ben bilanciate piuttosto che ritrovare quello spirito strategico e quella abilità alla guida che erano elementi fondanti nei primi esempi di kart racing, ma è una caratteristica che d'altra parte accomuna Sonic & Sega All-Star Racing con i recenti capitoli dello stesso gioco Nintendo. In ogni caso, si tratta di un titolo divertente e adatto ad un pubblico allargato, meno tecnico dei vecchi Mario Kart ma più spensierato e veloce, una vera interpretazione in chiave arcade Sega di un classico Nintendo, ma non il miglior kart racer in assoluto.

Only a handful of previous VC releases have cared enough to do anything extra, beyond just emulating old game code -- Nintendo gave the menus and tutorials of Sin & Punishment a fresh English-language update when it launched in America for the first time through the VC service in '07, and the Virtual Console Arcade re-release of SEGA's Space Harrier added in a motion control option that let you use the Wii's Nunchuk controller to send your flying man zipping around the screen. But it's an incredibly rare and notable event any time anything extra is done -- only about 1 in every 100 re-releases -- so games like Sonic & Knuckles deserve some extra recognition and respect for not taking the easy way out. If you're a Sonic fan (and who isn't, when it comes to the Genesis era games) then put down eight bucks here and complete the 16-bit series experience in VC form. Sonic & Knuckles is a great game on its own, and its novel lock-on feature makes your other Sonic games even better.

I could sit here for the next ten pages & talk about how Dante’s Inferno compares to God of War, but what exactly would be the point in that? Yes, it is very similar but what about for people who have never played God of War? Anyway, onwards & upwards!
