Among Us VR is a great ground-up reworking of a classic social game that feels right at home in virtual reality, remaining faithful to Innersloth’s hit while feeling fresh in a new perspective and with a few sneaky new tricks in play. This still feels like the same game many of us fell in love with years ago, yet thanks to new elements like proximity voice chat and mini-games made to work with motion controls, Among Us VR revitalizes action across The Skeld. Additional maps and cosmetics can’t come quickly enough, but if they’re up to the standard that Schell Games has set with the one that’s currently available they’ll be worth a bit of a wait. This is easily one of the best VR adaptations of an existing game yet.

The early minutes of an Orbital Bullet run offer absorbing action, as you whip around wraparound environments. But there are a few blemishes. Creature stomping has little room for imprecision making it all too easy to lose health when attacking from above. While some recent weapon balancing has improved the title, the game still grows exasperating as players progress. But beyond these minor transgressions, Orbital Bullet seems to offer some indisputable evidence that roguelike qualities can improve most games.

J'aurais dû écouter les joueurs : ne commencez pas à jouer à Vampire Survivors. Non pas que le jeu soit mauvais. Bien au contraire. Non, le problème vient du fait qu'une fois que vous commencez, vous ne le lâchez plus. Le concept est simple, très simple, mais l'envie d'y retourner est incroyable. Un must-have, en solo comme en coop.

Tactics Ogre: Reborn è un classico senza tempo, uno dei migliori GdR strategici a turni, che merita di essere giocato ancora oggi anche in virtù di una trama profondamente matura e curata. Le migliorie apportate, a cominciare dalla rivisitazione grafica per andare più nel dettaglio in aspetti di gameplay e di esperienza generale, lo rendono un gioco nuovo per alcuni versi, ma mai distante dalle proprie radici. La difficoltà delle battaglie porta inevitabilmente a un loop per il quale ci si allena fino al level cap per poi proseguire con la storia, ed è innegabile che questa meccanica rallenti la progressione, ma il ritmo è comunque più spedito rispetto al passato. Se in superficie non si discosta dai tanti strategici in circolazione, dove brilla è in una raffinatissima microgestione che, oggi più che mai, ci permette di sperimentare e avere il controllo pressoché di ogni aspetto per plasmare la nostra avventura.

Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord è finalmente pronto a conquistare i cuori dei videogiocatori console – e lo fa in grande stile. La buona notizia è che chiunque fino a oggi abbia osservato gli sviluppi del titolo solo da lontano può finalmente trovarsi tra le mani un capitolo ruolistico e simulativo sostanzialmente infinito, ricco di possibilità e che continuerà ad essere supportato nel tempo. Il compromesso più importante, però, rimane un approccio tramite pad che in questo genere di produzioni mostra alcuni limiti, soprattutto per le fasi gestionali, un po' difficili da digerire. Trovato il modo di scendere a patti con questo limite, Bannerlord ha indubbiamente da dire la sua anche ai giocatori console.

Dopo una lunga attesa, i venti del Fimbulwinter ci hanno condotto nel cuore di un'epopea che chiude magistralmente l'ordalia norrena dello spartano. Recuperando con convinzione e perizia il taglio più viscerale ed intimista del precedente capitolo, God of War: Ragnarok riesce a fare anche di più: donare al pubblico uno spettacolare punto d'approdo per l'intera saga, con un racconto poderoso, toccante e intriso di richiami antologici che i fan di lunga data non potranno fare a meno di adorare. A sostegno di questo tesoretto narrativo, troviamo un combat system sfaccettato e appagante, che rielabora i tratti chiave del predecessore per proporre un calderone di opportunità guerresche mai così ricco, ardente di furia ma al contempo denso di sfumature tattiche. Questo col contributo di sistemi di progressione ed equipaggiamento che favoriscono la varietà combattiva, con la complicità di un maggiore assortimento di nemici ed interazioni ambientali. Parlando di diversità ludica, abbiamo sicuramente apprezzato tanto l'ampliamento degli scenari esplorabili, quanto quello degli enigmi ambientali che scandiscono la progressione, tra le maglie di un mondo capace di rapire i sensi in un continuo susseguirsi di scorci mozzafiato. Al netto di qualche piccola asperità, insomma, l'ultima opera di Santa Monica Studio ci ha regalato un'esperienza straordinaria, destinata a lasciare un segno indelebile nella memoria collettiva della platea videoludica.

Tactics Ogre Reborn es, por méritos propios, uno de los grandes SRPG de la historia, que ahora podemos disfrutar de la mejor manera gracias a sus novedades jugables y gráficas. Sin embargo, echamos en falta un mayor arrojo por parte de Square Enix con esta revisión del remake de 2010. Si ya jugaste hace años, no hay grandes alicientes para repetir.

Impeccable writing, pitch-perfect performances, knockout action – it’s a complete work of art from top to bottom. Reflecting its core themes, it's everything a sequel should be: respectful of its legendary lineage, but not afraid to take it to exciting new places. God of War Ragnarok is an almighty achievement and creates a new high that makes many of its peers look positively mortal by comparison.
