Both the pros and cons of Iron Man on the PlayStation 2 led to me scoring the title as a "Meh" on the IGN scale--it wasn't awful or amazing for the platform. However, with the unlimited potential of the PC, standards are different here. Terrible visuals, straightforward/easy gameplay, and a plethora of other problems make Iron Man fail at being anything worth trying.

Ja, Turok und Turok 2 waren super Spiele. Aber was dem glorreichen Namen danach angetan wurde, rechtfertigt wohl, dass die Serie einen komplett neuen Anfang nimmt. Und ich habe kein Problem damit, dass mein Held jetzt kein Indianer im Dinosaurierland mehr ist, sondern ein unrasierter Schema-F-Marine, der ohne größere Änderungen auch in jedem anderen Shooter mitwirken könnte. Ich habe allerdings ein Problem mit blöden Design-Entscheidungen, die ein gutes Spiel in die Mittelmäßigkeit zerren: Ein Indianer mag keinen Schmerz spüren, ich hingegen schon – und der äußert sich in diesem Fall in einem angesichts des schrecklich missratenen Checkpunkt-Systems rasant schrumpfenden Paracetamol-Vorrat. Die Verwundbarkeit während der nicht abbrechbaren Messer-Attacken zählt ebenso dazu wie die hibbelige Steuerung oder die übertriebene Unberechenbarkeit der Saurier, die ihren Teil dazu beitragen, dass der Schwierigkeitsgrad unnötig in die Höhe gekurbelt wird. Ich mag das Messer samt seiner mannigfaltigen Anwendungsmöglichkeiten, ich mag den Bogen, ich mag die vielfältigen Herangehensweisen an die Probleme. Aber ich mag es nicht, eine Stelle zehn Mal spielen zu müssen, weil die Designer der Meinung sind, dass das total viel Spaß macht. Turok, alte Hütte – tu rockst einfach nicht mehr!

Victorious Boxers Challenge è un titolo pieno di difetti, ma decisamente unico ed originale nel suo genere per la softeca Wii, se si esclude la Boxe di WiiSports. Il fardello di una pessima implementazione dell'uso del Wiimote e del Nunchuk pesa sulla sua giocabilità, che sarebbe potuto divenire una pietra miliare, una chiave di volta per il futuro di tutti gli esponenti della sua categoria. Se siete però stufi di giochi "kawaii", se il genere vi incuriosisce e volete provare un gioco di boxe passabile (perchè tale è se si accetta di usare il Game Cube Pad oppure il Classic Controller) Victorious Boxers Challenge fa per voi. Ma state attenti a non crearvi troppe aspettative: potreste rimanere scottati.

The problem with Iron Man is that at some point someone sat down and said "You know what would be fun? Drop players into situations where they have to do repetitive, meaningless tasks and then add respawning, overwhelming douchebags." That's a shame. Flying is fun, the upgrades are neat, and the game can look good. However, these pros are outweighed by the aforementioned frustration, crappy storyline and lame cutscenes. You never feel like Iron Man in this game, and if you're like me, you never feel like you're having fun.

It's not like this game was a quickly developed shovelware of a movie-tie in handheld experience. A lot of time and effort went into the Nintendo DS game: the game looks good and sounds great with its extensive voice-over from Robert Downey Jr. and its rather intense orchestral-like background music. But the gameplay has a hard time being better than just "okay" thanks to the laundry list of basic elements that should have been included. It's fast, fun, and challenging, but you'll have to be a bit accepting to some of the awkward design decisions to get your enjoyment out of Iron Man.
