If you missed out on the Neo Geo and you want to experience some nostalgic goodness, this compilation works well. The PSP version has some loading problems and wonky multiplayer, but gaming on your own is just fine. Even though there's a price increase from twenty to thirty dollars when jumping from PS2 to PSP, you're still only paying $1.90 for each title on the disc, which isn't a bad deal.

Iron Man est un jeu dont le gameplay décevant témoigne d'une fracture étonnante : un héros visuellement réussi, avec une panoplie d'actions étoffée et des possibilités d'évolution sympathiques, se voit lancé dans des missions inintéressantes et peu variées au coeur d'environnements austères. Le fan absolu des super-héros Marvel aura déjà du mal à faire abstraction de cela les autres sont purement et simplement invités à s'en tenir au film.

There are the beginnings of a fun game in Princess on Ice, but there isn't enough of it to make a good title. The game looks and sounds good, with classic pieces of music and some nice skating animations. The special move portions are the only challenging or particularly interesting parts of the actual gameplay though. The rest is a copycat tapping exercise. The story is very basic, the endings are disappointingly brief, and the characters are so one dimensional that there is no need to go through all of the stories. For a little girl that adores figure skating though the game does a fairly good job of representing the sport. But it's appeal will last about as long as watching one of the competitions on TV.

Non si può non ammettere che la struttura a missioni di Grand Theft Auto IV (o per meglio dire di Grand Theft Auto in generale) sia al giorno d'oggi obsoleta e superata e che, se non altro, sarebbe bastata una maggior dedizione nel realizzare il design di alcune missioni per rendere il nuovo parto Rockstar un capolavoro assoluto. Basti pensare a tutti gli elementi introdotti dal sistema di coperture e dall'ottimo design degli interni (per altro molto interattivi) per capire quanto ne avrebbe guadagnato il gameplay se solo questi fossero stati sfruttati maggiormente. Nonostante negli aspetti appena descritti il titolo sia fondamentalmente sempre uguale a se stesso, vi sono una serie di elementi che rendono la produzione superiore a qualsiasi altra dello stesso genere e a molte di quelle presenti nel panorama videoludico attuale: una trama interessante e coinvolgente che a conti fatti invoglia a proseguire anche a fronte di una serie di missioni dal design spesso piatto, la profondità psicologica di Niko e di tutte le persone con cui verrà in contatto e, ultimo ma non meno importante, il mondo di Liberty City: un mondo vivo e reale. Un constesto urbano, suburbano ed extraurbano in continuo movimento, pieno di spunti per tenere occupato il giocatore, ricco di scorci paesaggistici indimenticabili. Una grande "satira in movimento" della società americana, lo "spaccio universale" dei broker e degli homeless, il dipinto di una metropoli multiforme e sfaccettata. Questo è il vero cuore di GTA: la coerenza di tutti gli elementi, il loro concorrere a formare un mondo quasi vivo, che è in realtà una continua scoperta. Rockstar è riuscita ancora una volta ad offrire qualcosa di mai visto, una base sulla quale sviluppare nuove idee per un intrattenimento sempre più votato al coinvolgimento totale del giocatore. GTA IV, infatti, è un colossal videoludico, un'esperienza da vivere, difficile da descrivere in una manciata di caratteri per le sensazioni che provoca. Una produzione titanica che unisce un comparto tecnico assolutamente all'avanguardia, un'ambientazione vastissima capace di offrire decine di esperienze diverse e una sceneggiatura da Oscar.

Baroque is unique in concept but lacking in fun. That idea that you have to die in order to put the pieces of your life together is interesting and could work, but you still have to give the player a sense of direction and accomplishment. At the very least, running around the world and engaging in combat should be fun -- here, it isn't. There are plenty of people out there who don't know what to do with their own lives. I doubt very many of us want that lack of motivation recreated in our games. Unless you consider yourself a hardcore roguelike adventurer, Baroque will prove more convoluted than refreshing.
