As sports games on the DS go, Mario Slam Basketball is one of the best. It's not a classic Nintendo title though.

La domanda sorge spontanea: perché ostinarsi a produrre remake di vecchi giochi arcade su una console portatile che più volte ha dato dimostrazione di saper competere con titoli degni di una macchina casalinga? O meglio, perché rilasciare una versione pressoché identica a quella del passato quando si può conciliare un buon concept a delle belle innovazioni? Bomberman non è un brutto titolo ma avrebbe potuto essere molto più incisivo e divertente. Se solo gli sviluppatori si fossero impegnati a creare qualcosa di veramente nuovo, anziché proporre un clone 3D della versione arcade, molto probabilmente le sorti di questo prodotto sarebbero state migliori. Così com’è, purtroppo, può soltanto ambire ad attirare l'attenzione dei nostalgici e di coloro che cercano uno svago facile e veloce allo stress quotidiano. Niente di più.

KOEI's newest effort in its long-running series adds a few twists here and there, but the basic action stays simplistic and oh-so-familiar. The stategic elements do affact gameplay to a small degree, and the multi-musou attacks and the create-an-officer are neat extraneous additions. Unfortunately, the game's basic concept, button-mashing combat, really hasn't changed one iota since 2001. But hey, there is a two-person option for co-op play!

Yggdra Union is an amazing accomplishment, but it's a game that I probably admired more than I enjoyed. There's no denying that this is one of the most beautiful and visually-complicated games ever released on the GBA. The gameplay is unique and inventive, but it's not always intuitive and won't be everyone's cup of tea. Real time strategy addicts looking for something new will find it here, but casual gamers would do better to start with something like Advance Wars.

Rockstar centra il bersaglio ancora una volta: il titolo, pur allontanandosi dalla liberta e dal gameplay della serie Gta, riesce ad appassionare il giocatore fin dai primi minuti di gioco. La storia è ben narrata e presenterà molti elementi inediti rispetto alla pellicola di Walter Hill del 1979; proprio per tale motivo ne consigliamo l’acquisto a tutti ed in particolare agli amanti del film “I guerrieri della notte”. Il comparto tecnico del titolo è ottimamente realizzato, tanto che sul bellissimo schermo di Psp sembrerà addirittura che i modelli poligonali e gli ambienti di gioco siano realizzati con molta più cura della versione Playstation 2. Le musiche che accompagneranno l’evolversi del gioco sono le medesime presenti nel film, e coinvolgeranno sempre il giocatore. I limiti del gioco sono da ritrovarsi in una longevità troppo limitata -dovuta alle poche opzioni presenti (storia, rissa rapida e multiplayer)- e nella struttura identica a quella apparsa diverso tempo fa su Playstation 2 e Xbox, priva di innovazione nello story line e nel gameplay. Un acquisto caldamente consigliato a chi non ha avuto modo di giocare The Warriors su altre piattaforme.

Malgré de notables lacunes dans sa présentation et dans l'IA des ennemis, Yggdra Union fait sans aucun doute partie des meilleurs jeux de rôle orientés stratégie sur consoles portables. Doté d'un gameplay très original et d'une durée de vie tout à fait correcte, nul doute que le jeu ravira les amateurs du genre.

For no apparent reason, this game was shipped a month early. A month of polishing would have ironed out some ghastly bugs. Some are funny. Some kill the fun of the game. When you do get a bug-free game, however, the hitting and pitching are fun. Fielding and baserunning are not without their problems, but you still get a good game of baseball from 2K7. Still, the look and sound of this game are pretty much identical to MLB 2K6 and it's clear that not much effort went into the current-gen versions of 2K7. The good news is that the online options and solid franchise mode will keep you coming back for more, if you can stand more of JD Drew, rated at 100. Seriously, the guy can barely finish an inning without ending up on the injury report. Is this really happening?
