While its debut on the PS3 isn't a bad one, this isn't what you'd expect when the title is supposed to erase the bad taste from the previous year's game. MLB 2K6 was hamstrung by fielding and baserunning issues that hampered play. This year, some of those problems were addressed in MLB 2K7, but others have cropped up to replace them: Odd fielding choices, hesitation steps around bases and tons of slowdown that randomly assaults the game. That's also excluding the un-updated rosters, repetitive dialogue and other issues that crop up. Finally, the SIXAXIS control scheme, while creative, just doesn't get the job done as much as you'd hope it would. 2K7 is still fun, but a number of its issues hamper the enjoyment of this title.

That being said, The League is the best Blitz game to grace consoles but Xbox 360 owners can and should expect more from their football games.

It isn't all that surprising that upon its initial release in 1992, the game saw very little in the way of wide attention or critical acclaim. The gameplay is rather generic and uninspired and doesn't offer anything new to the genre. Even with a second player the game gets boring far too quickly. If you want a true side-scrolling shoot 'em up, go with old faithful: R Type III -- it's just as available and will last you far longer.

Chili Con Carnage is a good deal of fun. It's chaotic, funny and unlike just about every other action game out there. The control issues hamper the experience a bit, but don't keep it from being an overall worthwhile experience. There's lots of stuff to go back and do to keep you occupied, so it'll stay in your PSP a while as well, just so long as you don't get bored of shooting dudes in the face.

Chew Man Fu's appeal will be made clear to you with a quick glance at a screenshot or video --if you're an old-school fan of action-puzzler game designs, you'll immediately recognize it as a game meant for you. But that's not a huge group of players. For most, the gameplay here will be a bit too simplistic. So only invest your cash if you're fully informed of your own personal preference for puzzlers.

Una raccolta assolutamente consigliata a tutti: Sega Megadrive Collection contiene un gran numero di giochi validi e li propone con cura e passione perdipiù a prezzo “budget”. Purtroppo certe scelte del parco giochi sono un po' infelici: saghe Golden Axe, Ecco e Phantasy Star potevano essere ospitate un po' per volta in differenti raccolte, privilegiando così la varietà, piuttosto che essere inclusi tutti nello stesso contenitore. Ne hanno fatto le spese altri classici che speriamo di vedere tutti in altrettanta splendida forma in una prossima Megadrive Collection vol.2

Metal Slug Anthology, while a better bet than the previously released Wii version, is still a bit of a mixed bag. On one hand you’ve got some annoying loading issues (at extremely odd times in some instances) and a less-than perfect set of controls with the PSP’s questionable d-pad and analog nub. On the other, however, are seven arcade-true recreations ranging from the series beginning in 1996. The graphical style, timeless VO (hearing “Rocket Laoon-cha” always brings a smile to our faces), and core gameplay has been entirely retained, though you’ll have to deal with annoying loads and some odd PSP trip-ups during highly-technical moments. The two player offering is bittersweet, as it’s fully supported but requires a second copy of the game (for a total of $80 for co-op), and the experience just doesn’t hold a candle to kicking the crap out of a pizza joint arcade cabinet with a friend. Then again, you won’t need an overflowing pocket of quarters either (once you spend 160 each for the game, that is). For die-hard PSP fans that can’t get enough Metal Slug and don’t mind the somewhat overbearing – and all too frequent – load times, Metal Slug Anthology is a solid purchase. For anyone else, save your cash for the impending April release of the PS2 version, which is sure to support arcade sticks, two player play, and a much larger screen.

If you are looking for something a little different Maelstrom might be worth a look. Just know that you won't be getting greatness.
