Torment: Tides of Numenera may not be for gamers that are accustomed to more fast-paced and action-heavy RPGs, but those who appreciate a well-developed world and characters will find a lot to enjoy here. It’s overflowing with depth and personality, and the many ways that you can navigate through it make it truly feel alive. If you’ve been dreaming of RPGs returning to a time where depth and detail were the genre’s blood and bones, then this is the game for you.

Berserk and the Band of the Hawk doesn’t capitalize on the Dynasty Warriors formula as well as it could have, but its incredibly dark and engaging narrative makes it a unique experience. The game takes you to some truly shocking places when all is said and done, which makes it stand out when compared to most other games. In the end, Dynasty Warriors fans will likely be satisfied, but if you’re tired of that series’ formula then this will do little to change your mind.

There’s not much that Dynasty Warriors: Godseekers gets wrong, but what it does get right is basically what any other strategy RPG is expected to get right. It’s simply one of a number of similar games in a somewhat crowded genre, with nothing to really help it stand out other than its license. Putting that aside, Dynasty Warriors: Godseekers may not be what you expect from Dynasty Warriors, but it’s a competent strategy RPG that should at least satisfy fans of the franchise. Those new to the series may want to think twice, however.

Killing Floor 2’s concept remains simple, but the development team has polished it to a point where it’s always exciting. The attention to detail featured here is rivaled by few other games, and the fantastic maps, weapons and characters offer the needed variety to keep things fresh for a long time. The original Killing Floor still has a loyal following to this day despite its age, but Killing Floor 2 has just made it obsolete.

A shift to shorter, more intimate stories alongside the impressive visual and audio presentation make Battlefield 1 one of the more enjoyable single player shooters from DICE in quite some time. While multiplayer is far less ambitious than we’ve seen in years prior, it still scratches that itch for Battlefield fans who crave the chaos and cooperation that only this series can deliver.

The PSVR launch offered an array of different titles for players to experience with their first foray into the world and VR and RIGS: Mechanized Combat League is definitely one of the better options thus far. The game offers not only the very fun multiplayer options, but also a similar single player experience provides plenty of content in the game across the few different game modes. Even though the style of gameplay is one that definitely qualifies as one to try before you buy due to motion sickness, RIGS: Mechanized Combat League is a very enthralling experience that PSVR early adopters should definitely check out.

PlayStation VR is all about immersion and EVE: Valkyrie does a fantastic job at handling this by putting players right into the cockpit of their very own ship. The multiplayer game modes are the main attraction in the game without question, where your goal is to level up and upgrade new ships in your fleet. This process can be sped up with irritating microtransactions, but that doesn’t stop EVE: Valkyrie from being one of the best experiences thus far on PSVR.

While the game may not be anything near the visual showcase that the original game was for the PS4 itself, Driveclub VR is one game that gives a glimpse at the potential of VR racing and needs to at least be tried by any PSVR owner.

The Arkham series has already done a great job at putting players in the role of Batman, but the level of immersion in Batman: Arkham VR takes things to the next level in that department. Even though the game only clocks in at only about an hour to an hour and a half, the time spent literally being Batman is incredibly impressive. With a cheaper pricepoint, Batman: Arkham VR is definitely a game that you not only need to pick up with your PlayStation VR for yourself, but also serves as an excellent demo to show off the potential of the platform as well.

God Eater Resurrection may not be a must-have game, but seeing that its genre isn’t over-saturated allows it to stand firmly on its own. Going on a hunt with a team of human or AI allies is a blast most of the time, and there’s plenty of equipment to tinker around with to keep the sense of progression steady. Whether you’re returning from the PSP game or are just looking for a new Monster Hunter-esque fix, this game will definitely scratch the hunting itch for you.

Making a game that stands out from the rest of the crowd can be rather difficult, and while Hue definitely draws inspiration from other games, the overall experience is well worth the time. The adventure starts off at a slower pace as the colors are gradually introduced, but as the gameplay picks up the deeper you get into the game with well designed puzzles, all accompanied by a fantastic instrumental score, Hue really shines bright as an example of a puzzle platformer done right.

Games based on F1 actually date back longer than most game series, but they definitely have featured a lot of change over the years as many different developers have been involved. Last year’s entry continued the downward slide of the series in recent outings, largely due to a lack of features, but thankfully F1 2016 manages to revitalize the series with the return of Career mode in one of its best entries to date.

Double Fine was able to take a classic gaming genre and imbue new life into it with their trademark humor, and the resulting experience is solid. Just floating through the demented world that they’ve created is enjoyable thanks to the wonky characters you’ll come into contact with, and the mechanics are unique despite existing within a pretty standard genre framework. It could use some tweaks here and there, but fans of metroidvanias are sure to have a great time floating through the ridiculous world of Headlander.

Overwatch has been polished to a high sheen by Blizzard. There are a handful of nits to pick, as mentioned above, but everything comes together in an extraordinary fashion when it could have just as easily been a mess of half-baked ideas.
