DJ Max Fever isn't perfect, but it is fun. The game doesn't hold your hand and lead you through the controls or menus so users are going to have to be prepared to teach themselves, but there's some great gameplay here, good tunes, and a whole lot of stuff to unlock. Once you figure out the learning curve, there are good times ahead.

If you enjoyed Cooking Mama, you will almost certainly like Happy Cooking, but the fact that they're just so similar probably makes it unnecessary to own both. The story mode is the one aspect that separates this game from the Mama series. If you're new to the cooking genre on DS and are wondering where to start, just keep in mind that Happy Cooking has a more involved story, while Cooking Mama focuses more on the variety of tasks. Other than that, you're going to get about the same out of both titles.

The open world design of Burnout Paradise has its advantages and disadvantages. While you're afforded a welcome degree of freedom when it comes to completing challenges and roaming around, some of the more structured content can become repetitive after extended play sessions, and there's a definite learning curve associated with getting to know how the world's various avenues lock together. If you're willing to put in the time, there's plenty of content here to enjoy, including getting a handle on how all the various car models control and boost. For gamers looking for a different kind of high-speed racer or anyone's who has yet to experience the thrill Criterion's Burnout series provides, this is a solid choice.

So Sonic Chaos isn't a total retread of territory covered before in earlier Sonic titles -- but it's pretty close. Diehard fans of the hedgehog hero will no doubt want to dive back in to this lesser-known 8-bit adventure and enjoy its handful of unique elements, like Tails' flight and Sonic's Emerald-hunting bonus stages. The rest of the Wii-owning world, though, would be perfectly fine without experiencing this one. As the ninth different Sonic-related title to come to the Virtual Console thus far, there are several other ways to spend your Wii Points and get back a superior Sonic experience as return on your investment -- and that's what I'd recommend. Take the 500 you would have used here and, if you're in the mood for 8-bit Sonic, check out the Master System Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Otherwise, add three more bucks and grab one of the original Genesis trilogy. The Wii's definitely become a Sonic box, but that doesn't mean we have to drown in the overflow -- we can use the variety SEGA's offered us and pass by these lesser entries in favor of sticking with the Blue Blur's best.

For all the “innovation” talk on the DS, I find that few games really innovate all that much in the end. A little touch here, a little dual screen there… maybe one out of every two dozen games really get it. With My World, My Way though, originality comes in a different way, as it’s all about opening up the RPG mechanic to players, giving a slew of options and tweak abilities, and pushing the innovative (there’s that word again) RPG mechanic to its fullest. Atlus followers that sunk time into Master of the Monster Lair will recognize a couple characters, a huge bulk of monsters, interface icons, and even the main dungeon crawling engine from Global A’s previous game, but take time to warm up to this one and you’ll find a whole lot more depth and originally here. The pout points system makes tweaking the game’s drop rates, difficulty, experience and cash payout, and other major factors extremely easy, and any game that has support characters that are just as fun – if not more entertaining altogether – than the main character is one I’ll fully stand behind. Anyone can do another straightforward “random battles RPG,” or whip up a quick DQ or Final Fantasy clone, but it’s great to see a game that uses the assets it has, cuts corners where it needs to budget-wise, and focuses on making something really unique. Despite its repetitious feel, and the inevitable grind that comes with leveling up and battling your way through dozens of hours of baddies, My World, My Way is a unique, innovative, and more importantly, fun game. Oh, and when the store clerk looks at you funny for buying a game with a pink princess on the front of the box, don’t bother with the “it’s for my sister” crap. Just break his nose, and tell him “Boz sent me.” (You might not really want to do that.)

Lonpos wouldn't be a bad little puzzle game if it was developed a bit better. Its concept just has a lot of flaws: bad Wii remote controls, a weak set of features, and some completely unnecessary pay-to-play downloadable content. What's left is a central puzzle game that makes for a better supporting mini-game than a title product.

On face value, Savage Moon looks like it would be an incredible tower defense game: a large space battle where you're fighting against bugs with powerful turrets – how could it go wrong? Well, with strategy that can be easily exploited, turrets that don't track your enemies perfectly, and other issues, Savage Moon starts to quickly fall apart. While the inclusion of Vengeance mode adds a level of replayability, you'll have to fight your way through a lot of strategy problems to enjoy it. It's still a decent game, but expect a lot of frustrating flaws along the way.

SimAnimals is a solid simulation for kids. There are a lot of engaging gameplay possibilities here, the difficulty is low, and the controls are simple. The package lacks personality, but it's easy to get caught up in the day-do-day tasks of nourishing your forest. After the Wii game turned out so shoddy, it's nice to find a good version here on the DS.

It's Bejeweled 2. A solid port of Bejeweled 2, but Bejeweled 2 nonetheless. If you love the game, the $10 is worth it. If you're only a passing fan, you might as well just stick with the free online version. You don't have as many options, but it's still addictive and will appease your match three puzzle hunger.

But that's not all! Because, of course, there's also the matter of Metal Slug Anthology -- the physical disc release that already came out for Wii years ago, and contains both this game, and Metal Slug X, and every other installment in the series up to and including Metal Slug 6. So if you're weighing out your Wii Point investing options, there's a whole lot to dissuade you from downloading Metal Slug 2. It's still a pretty solid game on its own, and there's no denying it's both hilarious and filled to the brim with great run-and-gun action. But it's brought down considerably by the slowdown that plagues many of its scenes, and it's almost guaranteed to be brushed aside by Metal Slug X when and if that superior edition arrives in Virtual Console form. If you're a hardcore Slug fan, go ahead and drop nine bucks. But everyone else is going to be better off waiting for a while, or else just going back to revisit the Anthology release.

Let me finish this review by saying something about the score. When we assign ratings to games, we take into account what each title is. Most of you are reading this review because you want to hear what we have to say about a game that you consider a joke. If you're reading this right now, then this game is obviously not for you. I'm sure I don't have to tell you that. If you are actually interested in this title, it's because you have young children at home, and that's who this game was meant for. Go, Diego, Go! as a series is intended solely for preschoolers, and makes no attempt to reach outside that narrow demographic. Go, Diego, Go! Great Dinosaur Rescue mirrors the show in that philosophy. You can't compare a game like this to others meant for older children or adults. We are reviewing this title on its own merits as a game for preschoolers, and the following scores reflect that. When all is said and done, this is a decent game for preschoolers, but the simple lack of content hurts the overall product. This title is meant for the youngest of gamers, so it’s not recommended for anyone over the age of six. If your child is a fan of the series, they’ll probably enjoy this game as long as it lasts, but because it’s so short, you may be better off just picking up a few episodes on DVD.

If your only goal in this life is to worship the Coraline franchise in all forms, you might find some redeeming value in D3 Publisher's videogame adaptations. But if you value quality software, whether designed for adults or for kids, this title is your mortal enemy. It reeks of dated gameplay design ideals, loses nearly all the substance and style of the book and movie respectively, is too difficult at points for kids, and is too short for your money. Never mind the fact that if you're as unlucky as me, you'll encounter a crash bug that prevents you from completing the experience. The movie's tag line is 'some doors should never be opened.' The game's should be ' some boxes should never be opened.'

There's been plenty of discussion in the IGN offices about what to do with this game's score. If I hadn't passed the aforementioned bug, the score would have tumbled to "don't-touch-this levels." Instead, it's become a cautious recommendation of a game that would've otherwise been a huge recommendation. As it stands, Ar Tonelico II is still a brilliant RPG -- albeit one with some borderline creepy bits and plenty of giggle-worthy dialogue -- but in this case, buyers most definitely should beware.

This isn’t the game mah jong players were waiting for on XBLA, but it works as advertised and will tide people over until something better comes along. The lack of avatar support is disappointing, as is the poor presentation and sub-par tutorial. But the online works, and that’s all many players will require.

I love the GM aspects of sports games. In fact, I spend more time building the league's best team than playing the actual games. So something like MLB Front Office is exactly the kind of game that appeals to me. Unfortunately, there are a considerable number of issues holding MLB Front Office Manager back. Lack of three-team deals, a mediocre interface, and questionable AI logic are unacceptable even from a new IP. I hope 2K gives Front Office another go next year, because with some fixes to very obvious issues, this could be a great game.

It wasn't too long ago that we reviewed another City Interactive WWII shooter, Sniper: Art of Victory, and bestowed upon it a clear thumbs down. We riddled it with bullets for its shooting inaccuracies, its brevity, its lack of multiplayer support, its AI and animation irregularities, and its rudimentary graphics. To be honest, Battlestrike suffers from many of the same foibles, including no multiplayer. Yet it feels marginally more sophisticated, looks marginally better, and won't hassle you as much with problematic shooting mechanics.
