So this is another case of the not-such-a-sequel phenomenon, where the second installment in a franchise ends up being pretty much just a direct extension of the first game. Adventures of Lolo 2 is still an impressive, addictive puzzle action experience that deserves at least as high a score as the original, and it's worth a look for players who blazed through that quest and are hungry for yet more.

Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers is very likely the last version of Street Fighter II that will come to the Virtual Console, as it's the last version of the game made in the '90s for the SNES. It's possible that Capcom will present the SNES version of Street Fighter Alpha 2 at some point in the future, too, but that game's part of the Alpha series and differs quite a bit from this earlier design. So that makes this version the last of II, and the best of II on the VC. If you haven't yet spent 800 Wii Points on any of the different Street Fighter II downloads, this is the one to get. It took them over a year and we had to wait through two past editions of the same experience, but this third time is, at last, the charm.

It really is quite a struggle to recommend Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 on any level whatsoever. Pro Evolution 6 was already a fairly weak offering, and the latest installment brings so very little to the party. With FIFA already offering a fairly respectable portrayal of the sport on the DS, there’s no reason to even consider purchasing Pro Evolution Soccer 2008; it’s a redundant retread of already barren ground, failing as both an update or a standalone title. It’s the Titus Bramble of football games – largely inadequate, lacking any flair and ultimately raising the question just what is the point.

Dancing With The Stars isn't a bad game, but its limited modes, linear career and weak visuals make the whole game feel like it should be retailing for less than a full-fledged game. It isn't. If you're aching to dance your heart out on a videogame system, the Dance Dance Revolution titles offer more modes, challenges and songs than this title ever could -- there just aren't terrible representations of Emmitt Smith and Joey Lawrence, but that's a good thing.

Released four years ago in Japan and just recently making it over to these shores, Rise to Power is one of those games that will probably appeal to hardcore historical strategy fans or nostalgic Nobunaga players. However, considering that the Battle and Strategy modes play a major role within the game, and each hosts key flaws that hampers effective planning for those modes, you're going to have some glaring problems to overlook.

Out of This World is a landmark game for a host of reasons, from the 2D polygonal work to its excellent narrative. I think what strikes me most about the game, even today, is its ability to tell a compelling story without holding up flashing signs. Without text or speech, you have to find the game's emotional core on your own as well as solve its series of challenges. If you want to see a major influence in motion, hunt down a copy of Out of This World for the PC or consoles. Or, if you want the purest experience, dust off an Amiga. The reward is worth the effort.

There has been a lot of emphasis put on the rivalry between Blades of Steel and Ice Hockey -- it really was a case of either/or in the '80s, as few young NES fans had the cash to be able to own both editions in their original cartridge forms. The debate still rages as to which one was really is the better game, what with Ice Hockey standing firm on its foundation of old-school Nintendo quirkiness and Blades of Steel offering a more standard, focused, grittier play experience. As for our verdict, we say flip a coin. You'll end up having solid 8-bit hockey fun no matter which way you go.

In the end though, Indy 500 Legends is still constrained on DS as it was on Wii, as its historic roots make it true-to-form, but thin on overall fun. If you’re a previous Indianapolis 500 racing fan, you’ll have fun with the game, as you get to race as legends, relive actual moments in racing history, and drive cars inspired from that era. Since it’s all tethered to specific years, however, the single player mode will have all racers and ride predetermined, with no vehicle tweaking or customization to be had. On the audio/visual side, Indy 500 DS has a very similar look (using the same single Indy 500 track, redesigned for each era), but doesn’t have the authentic audio experience that the Wii version did, with actual recorded car audio from the historic Indianapolis 500 museum. All full video intros and VO, however, were included.

Though the focus might be more on Nero than Dante, and could've been named something else with a Dante cameo, DMC4 still has everything that fans expect of the game – over the top fight sequences, tons of replayability and an experience with an excellent production value. Whether it's on the PS3 or the 360, action fans are going to get one incredible experience with this game, and if you own either system, you'll have a great time.

Let's be honest: we know this is a port, but you're getting an awful lot of stuff for only twenty bucks. And considering the fact that most of the content packed onto the disc is fun to play, there's really no reason for a Twisted Metal fan to miss this one. Those of you new to the car combat genre may find it a little eccentric, but we assure you that driving around at breakneck speeds and firing missiles out of a truck is very satisfying. Ultimately, we'd like to think of Extra Twisted as a pretty sweet deal -- especially if you're a Twisted Metal junkie.

Top Hunter is one of those games that you likely saw once or twice in an old arcade, perhaps installed inside one of those multi-game Neo Geo cabinets, and maybe you gave it a shot before ultimately forgetting about it. That's a fair reaction, but this one may be worth another look. Because while Top Hunter doesn't ever reach the same level of classic addictiveness as the more popular Metal Slug franchise, it does well enough – its dual-plane stage designs and stretch-arm attack mechanics help to set it apart and give it a sense of its own identity. With the Metal Slug series still currently unavailable for digital download on the Wii and set at a pricetag of 40 bucks to own in anthology form, you may be better served to put down nine dollars for this pretty good substitute instead.

Despite being of mediocre quality, it's hard to find a lot of games you can recommend to parents with young children in a world dominated by Halo and Manhunt. Barbie is harmless and cheerful, and her games always guarantee a happy ending. So if you're a parent who has a Barbie fanatic in the house and you want to keep her quite for a couple of hours, there's no harm in buying this game, just be warned it's not very good.

At only ten dollars less than the original Xbox release which also featured Xbox Live play it’s tough to recommend Chessmaster Live to people. The chess action is solid and the different AI types will please chess aficionados but we can’t help but feel like the feature set doesn’t quite live up to the rest of the series. Beginners can’t just hop in and take a lengthy chess lesson to get themselves acquainted and those looking for something beyond the regular game of chess can only find it online or while playing against a friend. Chessmaster Live is a functional board game, but in this day and age we need a bit more to give it the stamp of approval.
