Soundfall has an interesting premise, but it falls short of realizing its potential. Nothing in the game is overtly bad, but this isn’t a game I’ll come back to or probably even think about all that much. Soundfall is a let-down, missing just enough beats to throw off its own groove.

Despite some flaws, I’ve enjoyed my time with Source of Madness, but it’s not a roguelite where I want to start over as soon as I fail. I think the art design and Lovecraft theme help it stand out in a crowded market, and even though it’s filled to the brim with madness it’s nowhere close to being at the top of the mountain.

Source of Madness è un roguelike tipico con un atmosfera "Lovecraftiana" peculiare e interessante. Mappe e nemici generati proceduralmente e una progressione da tenere costantemente sotto controllo sono sicuramente i punti di forza del gioco. Purtroppo le animazioni, un comparto audio non all'altezza delle aspettative, un design dell'hub principale troppo dispersivo e una generazione casuale non costante nella qualità vanno a minare un prodotto tutto sommato divertente. Nota di merito senza dubbio ai ragazzi di Carry Castle che hanno fatto comunque un lavoro fantastico essendo solo in tre.
