F1 Manager 2024 prosegue nel cammino di arricchimento che avevamo auspicato sin dal primo capitolo. La nuova modalità carriera rappresenta un valore aggiunto dal punto di vista gestionale, oltre che contenutistico, andando ad irrobustire la microeconomia della squadra. La struttura base rimane la medesima delle passate edizioni, ma in questo caso, a differenza del 2023, l'acquisto è giustificato anche da una nuova politica di prezzo, visto che viene venduto a 34,99 euro, 20 in meno rispetto al predecessore. Purtroppo le novità sono penalizzate da una lunga lista di bug, alcuni dei quali importanti, sui quali solo gli appassionati potranno soprassedere a cuor leggero.

Nobody Wants to Die passe à deux doigts du chef d'œuvre. Les quatre fins, toutes décevantes, achèvent une enquête qui commençait à partir en boudin après la déception de son faux climax, sur Liberty Island. Le tueur en série reste élusif, ses motivations et son mode opératoire obscurs ; et le jeu retombe comme un soufflé, abandonnant des pans entiers de scénario comme les apparitions spectrales de votre ex-femme Rachel. Pire, vos décisions martelées comme critiques par le jeu n'ont en réalité aucun impact, à part quatre d'entre elles sur cinq ou six heures de jeu (voir encadré). Restent l'ambiance, exceptionnelle, et quelques dialogues particulièrement inspirés sur la mort, la liberté et le capitalisme débridé – cités en italique dans ce test. Suffisamment pour donner au jeu son âme. Mais pas assez pour le faire entrer dans la cour des grands. Vivement une suite, car ce premier jeu (jet ?) est prometteur.

Nobody Wants To Die est un jeu d’enquête narratif qui nous emmène dans un film noir de haute qualité. Le visuel est à couper le souffle et l’histoire est si prenante que nous n’avons pas vu le temps passer. Nobody Wants To Die a misé plus sur son histoire que sur son gameplay plutôt répétitif et plutôt fermé, malgré le genre qui veut cela. Un jeu plutôt court qui se finit en moins de 6 heures et dont le prix est largement suffisant pour tester une histoire un poil complexe, moralement pleine de sens. Nobody Wants To Die fait du bien par la volonté de proposer un jeu de type narratif et il est à tester si vous cherchez un jeu d’enquête guidé, dans un univers futuriste dystopique, au prix raisonnable de 25,99€ à sa sortie sur PC.

Cat Quest III is a familiar yet flawless action adventure with fluid and fantastic-feeling combat. Its charming story and witty writing bring life to the Purribean, one of the best-designed mini-open worlds in recent memory. That open world is packed with satisfying quests and engaging puzzles to solve that almost always throw some new idea or challenge at you. The progression here is smooth, and the entire experience is precisely paced with no performance issues at all. Some stunning animation work, accompanied by a gorgeous shanty-like pirate soundtrack tops off an excellent adventure. All of that together ensures that Cat Quest III is a pristine pirate adventure and action RPG. Quite simply, one of the best indie games of the year.

Darkest Dungeon 2 Dopo l'esordio su PC, Darkest Dungeon 2 arriva su console segnando il ritorno di uno dei roguelike più interessanti del panorama indipendente. Red Hook Studios non si accontenta tuttavia di migliorare le ottime basi del primo capitolo, bensì ne prende le migliori caratteristiche per rivoluzionarne altre mettendoci alle redini di una carovana impegnata in un vero e proprio viaggio della speranza tra tenebre e dannazione. Il risultato finale, benché di altissimo livello, deve fare tuttavia i conti con una difficoltà elevata, un importante grado di casualità ed un mare quasi infinito di possibilità tattiche tra oggetti, status alterati e molto altro. Una sommatoria di elementi che lo rendono, paradossalmente, meno accessibile del predecessore e forse anche meno godibile. Per tutti coloro che non si spaventano di un'esperienza ruvida, complessa ed impegnativa, qui troverete pane per i vostri denti. If you appreciate the kind of retina-searing, adrenaline-emitting action found in intense bullet hell shooters, there’s a strong chance you’ll get hooked by CYGNI: All Guns Blazing. Sure, it can be unflinchingly tough, demanding your complete attention for each of its fifteen-minute-long stages. But the thrill of dangling from the precipice of survival as you struggle against swarms of enemies makes CYGNI indispensable for shooter junkies.

CYGNI All Guns Blazing non è il classico "shmup" ma, al netto di un impianto visivo convincente e di alcune idee di gameplay riuscite, si tratta di un prodotto che difficilmente diventerà il nuovo punto di riferimento per i puristi del genere e farà altrettanta fatica a coinvolgere quella fetta di pubblico non abituata agli sparatutto a scorrimento verticale, a causa di menu intricati e di un livello di difficoltà mal calibrato e poco personalizzabile. In ogni caso, è arrivata come un fulmine a ciel sereno la notizia dell’approdo del gioco in forma gratuita su Epic Games Store per un periodo di tempo limitato, così da permettere ai curiosi di aggiungerlo alla loro collezione e dargli un’opportunità a prescindere.

What can I say? SteamWorld games don’t miss (with me at least) and SteamWorld Heist II is no exception. This is a special treat for the Xbox ecosystem, as this is our first foray into SteamWorld’s take on the tactical strategy genre. Thunderful have made another game to show and help gamers how to branch out into other types of genres that they may normally not play. If you like this universe but do not typically like this type of game (or don’t know if you do), I would still implore you to give it a chance.

Earth Defense Force 6 is one of those games that I will never get tired of, as I have gone back to every single game in the series time and time again. As a whole, Earth Defense Force deserves way more attention, and I can't imagine there's anyone who wouldn't like it. If you like cheesy dialogue, giant monsters/bugs, and shooting progressively crazier weaponry, give this one a shot.
