Very Little Nightmare è un progetto solo parzialmente riuscito, purtroppo: riesce a ricreare in maniera convincente le atmosfere caratteristiche del gioco originale grazie a un bello stile grafico e un'ottima direzione artistica ma fallisce in buona parte la prova del gameplay a causa di problemi tecnici e di progettazione stessa della struttura di gioco. Resta un interessante complemento allo strano universo di Six, mettendo in scena un'ambientazione fascinosa come il Nido, ma è un po' poco per renderlo un gioco completo ed equilibrato.

Warhammer: Chaosbane is a solid first entry into the ARPG genre for the franchise. There are some cool twists on the theme like the God Tier system, but there are equally as many baffling decisions such as the matchmaking system, lack of economy, and decidedly absent customization options. There are the makings of a solid ARPG in here, but it needs a little more time in the oven to bake.

I desperately wanted Dollhouse to surprise me. The film-noir style is briefly eye-catching and the feature that allows you see through your enemy’s eyes is a winner of an idea on paper, but that is truly is where the upsides end. With a severe lack of variation and originality, it feels like a checklist of horror game clichés that it is trying to tick. With a huge range of quality horror titles around at the moment, I can’t in good faith recommend Dollhouse to anyone who is after a good, or even half-decent scare.

Sûrement attendu par les fans invétérés de Rick & Morty, Trover Saves the Universe se révèle être un titre franchement plaisant. La production de Squanch Games se détache notamment par une narration basique au début certes, mais prenant de l’épaisseur dans les personnages, et via son aspect totalement absurde, trash, et surtout hilarant avant tout. Le jeu s’offre également une interaction véritablement intéressante entre le joueur et Trover qui fonctionne super bien tout le long. Le gameplay est également bien rodé pour la VR comme le non VR, avec un équilibre bien trouvé entre combats, puzzles, plateformes et exploration. Les point noirs seront peut-être des blagues un peu beaufs trop prononcées, et quelques approximations de gameplay, restant hélas générique dans ses mécaniques. Néanmoins, qu’il soit jouable en version VR comme traditionnelle est bienvenue, car le soft peu toucher du coup un large public. Très honnêtement, vu la durée de vie que propose actuellement le jeu soit 5 heures, attendez qu’il passe par exemple à une quinzaine d’euros, pour profiter par la suite du soft, et de ses futurs contenus gratuits.

I have fond memories of a few ice hockey games from the 16-bit era, and Super Blood Hockey certainly evokes that in its presentation and general gameplay. Despite some UI niggles in the franchise mode that can make managing your team a bit of a slog, there’s a lot of silly, violent fun here that had me laughing and coming back for more. Couch multiplayer will likely see the violence spilling off screen, but what’s a little slap between friends?

Outer Wilds gets most of the “big picture” stuff right. It boasts a solid structure, wonderfully imaginative planets, and an involving slow-burn mystery. Unfortunately, clunky controls, a few irritating design choices, and a multitude of other little issues bring the game back down to earth. If you value originality over execution, Outer Wilds is worth the ride, but expect some turbulence.
