Assassin’s Creed III: Remastered porta con sé i difetti dell’originale, fregiandosi però di alcune migliorie sia sul versante grafico, sia in ambito di gameplay. Seppur non perfetta, l’opera di rimasterizzazione ha condotto le gesta di Connor alle porte del 4K HDR, non mancando di introdurre nuove opzioni per le fasi stealth e altri piccoli ritocchi all’esperienza generale. Se siete amanti dei combattimenti del primo capitolo, semplici ma incredibilmente realistici e brutali, non potrete che apprezzare quelli di Assassin’s Creed III, che restano tra i migliori dell’intera serie per impatto scenico. Il ritorno alla vecchia struttura ludica potrebbe essere troppo pesante per alcuni, i quali difficilmente si spingerebbero oltre i confini della campagna principale. Per tutti gli altri, invece, ci sono gli episodi de La Tirannia di Re Washington e AC: Liberation, anch’essi ripensati per gli schermi 4K.

With Assassin’s Creed 3 Remastered, Ubisoft does everything in its power to bring one of the weaker games in the series up to modern standards, and it’s full of sights worth seeing. The main improvement is graphical, and the scenery of 18th-century Colonial America looks fantastic. There are even some meaningful tweaks made to stealth mechanics to make it feel a little more up to date and less aggravating. Where this remaster falters are places where AC3 can't be changed without fundamentally remaking the entire game from the ground up, namely a stiff animation style, repetitive mission structure, and that goddamn final sequence.

With an incredibly robust feature set and massive swaths of content ready for the launch window, as well as an extensive roadmap on the horizon, The Division 2 raises the bar for how a sequel should launch. Only a handful of minor bugs and hiccups remain, but none of them hold this back from being the best team-based shooter we’ve played in a very long time. Massive Entertainment has a massive hit on their hands, and we can’t wait to see where it goes next.

Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists: Ateliers of the New World is a small breath of fresh air for the Atelier series, featuring a town-building experience that's different from anything that has been seen in the series before. The mechanics, while not particularly deep, are quite solid and they manage to make the gameplay loop quite engaging, together with the excellent character interaction. The game is clearly aimed at longtime fans of the series, but even those with a more generic knowledge of the Atelier games will find something to like. Just don't expect anything outstanding or revolutionary.

You can tell From Software was happy to try something a little different with Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. The game has a few mechanical issues, which can largely be chalked up to new series jitters, but its energy and excitement mostly make up for its flaws. Yes, Sekiro can be downright sadistic at times, but those with the bushido (or plain old stubbornness) to face its challenges will have a bloody good time.
