PS4 y Switch reciben una remasterización de uno de los spin-off más notables de cuantos han aparecido hasta ahora de los basados en la franquicia Final Fantasy. Se trata de un título muy especial en plan RPG dungeon crawler protagonizado por un Chocobo y sus amigos que posee una jugabilidad bastante particular y algo reiterativa a largo plazo pero que, a su vez, resulta mucho más compleja de lo que puede parecer en un primer momento. Un título que es capaz de absorberte por completo si sus mecánicas de juego son de tu agrado.

I wanted to love Generation Zero because there are so many good ideas in it that could’ve made for a stand-out co-op shooter, most notably the rural Swedish setting and robot enemies. Upon actually playing, however, I found most of those ideas were implemented extremely poorly, turning it into a frustrating and aimless slog through horribly unbalanced combat encounters. On top of that, it’s full of confounding bugs at launch, which make progress more difficult than it should be and even something as simple as teaming up with friends becomes a hassle.

MLB The Show 19 continues the series’ slow march of progress, though with a bigger step this year than last. Moments and March to October offer fresh ways to experience the outstanding gameplay, complete with the refinements on the defensive side of the ball. By integrating overt RPG mechanics into the player progression, Road to the Show has evolved into one of the deepest sports career modes currently available, even if it feels like less of a true-to-life simulation as a result. MLB The Show 19’s refreshed looks and sound closely replicates real MLB games on TV, thanks to some nice camera angles and graphical touches that emulate broadcasting. The biggest disappointment is Franchise, which continues to be the mode that’s left behind. Overall, this is the most compelling version since The Show 12 initially added Diamond Dynasty mode.

Squadra che vince non si cambia. Com'era lecito aspettarsi anche prima di questa recensione di MLB The Show 19, il gioco di baseball targato San Diego Studio continua a mettere mattoni su quella che è ormai da tempo una costruzione perfettamente solida. Le nuove modalità concorrono a dare respiro a quelle presenti da tempo, anche se la sensazione generale è che per l'anno prossimo si debba comunque provare a osare qualcosa di più per cercare di muovere acque rimaste per troppo tempo ferme. Si tratta comunque del miglior titolo in circolazione dedicato a questo sport, al quale va comunque reso merito per il saper mantenere alto il livello di qualità pur essendo (quasi) l'unico in circolazione.

Original stories for longtime running manga and anime series have become the popular option in recent years in games such as Dragon Ball FighterZ, and One Piece: World Seeker does just that with a captivating new story for Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates. Even as fun as it can be zipping around the island with Luffy’s outstretched arms, the numerous issues start to bubble up very quickly though and they make One Piece: World Seeker start to feel very monotonous and lackluster way too early into the game.

Chocobo's Mystery Dungeon EVERY BUDDY! es una propuesta ideal para los fans de la saga Final Fantasy que, si bien no revoluciona en nada, cumple con suficiencia en el propósito de entretener.

Nonostante un'idea di fondo intrigante e un'ambientazione affascinante, Generation Zero si era proposto come un progetto sulla carta interessante, salvo poi lasciare l'amaro in bocca in termini di realizzazione, apparsa molto approssimativa. Tuttavia lo sparatutto survival di Avalanche Studios rimane un'esperienza godibile specialmente in modalità cooperativa, ma il buon level design dell'opera non basta a mascherare uno scenario di grandi dimensioni ma sostanzialmente vuoto. Ed è davvero un peccato perché il concept lasciava presagire un titolo decisamente migliore sotto tutti i punti di vista, per poi deludere nella versione finale. Per il momento Generation Zero rappresenta una buona idea sprecata in maniera grossolana, ma con le giuste modifiche potrebbe in parte risollevare le diverse imperfezioni da cui si compone.

This is a brutally unforgiving game that demands constant attention from its players, but it's the kind of attention that I have been all too happy to devote. Thanks to its stellar combat and memorable boss fights, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is a proud reminder of the fact that FromSoftware doesn't require the crutch of an established formula to deliver an arresting experience.
