Warhammer 40.000: Rogue Trader è un gioco di ruolo ben fatto, che diventa imprescindibile se si ama lo scenario di riferimento. C'è davvero tutto quello che serve per coinvolgere il giocatore dall'inizio fino alla fine, tra scelte da compiere, diversi personaggi da gestire e un sistema di combattimento davvero gustoso, con anche degli spunti originali dati dall'ambientazione. Purtroppo è anche un titolo ostico per chi non mastica il mondo di Warhammer 40.000, che faticherà non poco a comprendere certi concetti e a seguire alcuni passaggi. Diciamo che questo non è il punto di ingresso più semplice nella mitologia creata da Games Workshop. Infine, è giusto sottolineare anche la mancanza della traduzione in italiano, che rende il gioco fruibile solo da chi conosce molto bene l'inglese, considerando la complessità di alcuni dialoghi e la mole degli stessi. Non prendetelo come un vero e proprio difetto, ma più che altro come un avviso.

Warhammer 40.000: Rogue Trader è uno dei migliori titoli dedicati all'universo di Games Workshop. È stato fatto un lavoro maniacale per ricreare con cura le atmosfere dark sci-fi, senza però scendere nelle banalità a cui spesso va incontro questa ambientazione. Ottimo anche il lavoro dal punto di vista prettamente ludico: Rogue Trader è un RPG davvero ricco di sfaccettature e di bivi, in cui però capita di trovarsi spaesati al cospetto dei tantissimi contenuti e di una marea di possibilità non sempre ben inquadrate.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora features a stunning alien world to explore with a refreshingly uncluttered approach to navigation, countless enemy bases to destroy and Na’vi clan sidequests to complete, and no shortage of exotic flora and fauna to harvest and hunt. However, its combat is pretty one-dimensional, its mission design is a bit on the repetitive side, and its environment is generally lacking in any major surprises beyond visual splendor, meaning that Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is a solid shooting adventure that’s more inside the box than truly out of this world.

Al netto di alcune problematiche di gameplay che rendono Avatar Frontiers of Pandora un’occasione a tratti sprecata, l’ultima fatica di Massive Entertainment è il prodotto perfetto per fare un viaggio virtuale tra le terre di Pandora. Si tratta infatti di un gioco che vanta una fedeltà estrema all’IP, sia per com’è costruito il mondo che per come sono caratterizzati i personaggi. Insomma, i fan più accaniti delle pellicole di James Cameron non potranno che apprezzare questo aspetto dell'esperienza e chiudere un occhio sui difetti.

Avatar Frontiers of Pandora emerge con gran forza in un periodo dove forse gli occhi del pubblico sono puntati altrove, ma questo non preclude all’opera licenziata di Massive Entertainment e Ubisoft di dire la propria portando sul mercato un ottimo videogioco dedicato ai Na’vi che mancava da qualche tempo. La spettacolare direzione artistica traina fortemente l’opera in ogni suo frangente, che grazie alla fedeltà rispetto ai film restituisce un tie-in tra i più convincenti sul mercato. Il poco coraggio nel mettere in scena una trama più originale e profonda è tuttavia un leggero freno a ciò che avrebbe potuto essere un’avventura su Pandora del tutto priva di influenze narrative, ma che in ogni caso fa la sua parte senza infamia né lode. Il gameplay funziona, e l’ispirazione alla serie Far Cry non può che aver giovato ad una produzione imponente che ha comunque molto del suo, destinata a far sognare quasi esclusivamente i fan della filmografia impostata da James Cameron, che ne sapranno apprezzare ogni sfaccettatura.

Avatar Frontiers of Pandora est, en termes d'exploration, un véritable vent de fraicheur à la formule Ubisoft bien connue. Plutôt qu'un vulgaire point d'intérêt à suivre, la progression du joueur se base sur de multiples indicateurs géographiques et même si cela peut être améliorable, l'effort constitue déjà une grande réussite pour profiter de l'univers et de cette nouvelle histoire de la résistance des Na'Vi. Malheureusement le jeu reste pollué d'un level gating omniprésent qui empêche une progression naturelle du joueur et si on apprécie l'effort de faire gagner les combats en stratégie, ils restent assez peu engageants au final mais à l'heure du bilan nous avons toutefois adoré notre voyage dans Pandora qui est à la fois fidèle et magnifique.

Tienes motivos perfectamente entendibles para no estar demasiado entusiasmado con Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, pero Ubisoft ha demostrado con hechos que al menos lo ha recreado con un mimo y un respeto absolutos en colaboración estrecha con los productores de las películas originales. La región que exploramos es todo un regalo para la vista, es divertido navegar por ella y disfruta de un diseño de niveles bastante bien cuidado para los estándares del género, de modo que los que alguna vez soñaron con tener un na'vi propio con aventuras independientes tienen motivos de sobra para estar contentos. De haber tenido una campaña algo más potente y algunas mejoras de combate e interfaz, seguramente se hubiera vuelto en una visita obligada en el catálogo del editor.

The Day Before is easily one of the worst games I’ve ever played, to the point where I’m afraid to continue running it on my PC. Sure, you could say there are the bones of something coherent here, but even those bones feel splintered and brittle. Its map is lifeless, its enemies are idiotic, its PvP is an exploitable mess, its story is pointless, and its progression is downright infuriating. While the now-defunct developer FNTASTIC said it wasn’t done, certain baseline standards have been established in the years since Early Access became a thing, and this game met none of them. The many mysterious questions around The Day Before’s development will likely go unanswered now that the curtain has fallen a mere four days after its release, leaving the playerbase to fend for itself until the servers are inevitably shut down for good. Steam is already diligently refunding anyone who made the mistake of buying it – and if you didn’t manage to try it, you can count yourself as one of the lucky ones.

Malgré quelques maladresses et imperfections made in Ubisoft, cet Avatar vidéoludique tient sa promesse principale et nous plonge totalement dans le monde et l'ambiance de Pandora.

Hypnospace Outlaw is a perfect recreation of what the internet once was, and in some ways still is: a glorious mess of friendship and anarchy. It’s probably good we don’t have auto-playing music anymore, though.
