Blue Prince is the kind of puzzle game that dug deep into my brain and didn’t let go. Its complex mysteries weave brilliantly into the careful decision making of how to lay out the mansion’s rooms on each randomized run, leaving me building floorplans in my sleep almost every night after I played it. The story that slowly emerges within this fascinating place is also a compelling one, and it had me hungrily hunting for clues and combinations for many hours after I reached the credits while also poetically tying into the mechanics that lead you to them. Hitting a dead end you did everything in your power to avoid can frustrate from time to time, but this sprawling estate has so much to uncover that the randomness never stalled my progress for too long. If The Witness, Portal, and Myst are already emblazoned on the Mount Rushmore of first-person puzzle games, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Blue Prince carved alongside them soon enough.

S’appuyant sur le moteur Unreal Engine 5, Monster Energy Supercross 25 est l’épisode le plus abouti de la franchise visuellement parlant. Reprenant le contenu du dernier, mais magnifié par une technique nettement plus aboutie, il est certainement le meilleur moyen de jouer à cette discipline encore assez méconnue en France. Toutefois, il faudra s’accrocher pour maîtriser un gameplay qui demandera des heures de pratique avant d’être totalement acquis, au vu des nombreuses acrobaties à réaliser pour réduire votre temps dans les airs. Comme d’habitude avec Milestone, les éditeurs sont nombreux et ultra complets avec un partage possible aux autres joueurs. Si vous appréciez les jeux du genre, Monster Energy Supercross 25 est une bonne proposition uniquement disponible sur PS5, Xbox Series X|S et PC.

As a reviewer, I suppose it’s my duty to make a definitive statement about the quality of the game, but Sunday Gold presents a very clear opportunity for me to recognize when a game of high quality just simply does not connect for me. I see praise for this game from roleplaying circles that commend its exacting combat and resource management, which are precisely the aspects that didn’t appeal to me at all. I am certain that there is a significant audience for this type of RPG-heavy story game with its cruel and bleak style and hostile antihero protagonists. The combat mechanics are complex and generally interesting, the difficulty curve is elevated at a level sure to please adherents to this type of game, and the story and dialogue at least take some wild swings. A game like Sunday Gold that is this committed to its own eccentricities at least plays its cards immediately—you’ll know before the brutal prologue ends whether this is a world you’re compelled to spend time in, or whether it’s just a right load of bollocks.

MLB The Show 25 est supérieur à ce que proposait l’édition précédente. Les développeurs n’ont pas eu peur de prendre des risques en proposant une refonte complète du mode Diamond Dynasty. Celui-ci est désormais bien plus intéressant, surtout en solo. D’un autre côté, le mode Road to the Show est un peu plus immersif notamment avec l’intégration du parcours scolaire. J’aurai souhaité une plus grande profondeur à ce niveau afin de ne pas avoir l’impression qu’il s’agit d’un ajout secondaire. La jouabilité a aussi été revue et demandera un certain temps d’adaptation pour comprendre les frappes qui peuvent souvent avoir des comportements aléatoires. Un élément qui a peu d’impact en solo, mais qui clairement peut déranger les joueurs qui aiment s’affronter en ligne. Dans l’ensemble, le jeu demeure une référence dans le milieu et l’équipe de San Diego doit continuer dans cette direction.

L'univers envoûtant du Sud gothique, sublimé par une esthétique stop motion et une bande originale magistrale, nous immerge dans un récit fantastique et touchant. Mais la proposition se heurte à une boucle de gameplay cruellement générique qui met à mal une aventure mémorable pour sa proposition artistique, et qui mérite d'être découverte malgré ses quelques écueils.

Nine Noir Lives is a great and surprisingly substantial game overall, earning a place among the ranks of other classic adventures of its kind. I played for about twenty hours (although it would surely have been less if I had used hints or a walkthrough) and enjoyed almost all of that time, especially the witty sense of humour and the super-cute characters. Has the premise been done before? Yes. Is the story original and new? Nope. Still, Nine Noir Lives gives it a unique, whimsical spin with its Shakespearean feline motif and manages to entertain and satisfy all your adventure game needs.

South of Midnight é um dos acertos que tanto cobravam do Xbox Game Studios. Com uma narrativa simples, porém cativante, o game apresenta bons personagens e emociona com mensagens claras e profundas. Apesar de um combate um tanto repetitivo, a obra diverte na simplicidade e encontra o brilho em um contido e ótimo mundo folclórico, regido por belas canções e liderado pela excelente protagonista Hazel.
