Arena Breakout fa propria una formula interessante ma ben poco adatta a un contesto mobile, a maggior ragione visto che gli sviluppatori hanno fatto ben poco per ottimizzarne i meccanismi e alleggerirne la struttura così che l'esperienza risultasse più immediata e digeribile per un'utenza spesso abituata a sparatutto veloci e frenetici, con cui potersi cimentare anche durante una pausa di pochi minuti. Al di là dell'estrema macchinosità dell'interfaccia, c'è poi il peccato mortale della mancanza del fuoco automatico, che trascina con sé tutto il gameplay trasformando gli scontri in una parentesi tanto statica quanto frustrante fra un bottino e l'altro.

Melon Journey: Bittersweet Memories is a brilliant, cute title that was built off their original RPG so many years ago. This feels like a step up for those who played the original story. The main takeaways will be the art and music for most players. You do have the freedom to explore, but the story only moves forward when finishing tasks assigned to you opening new sections. The game was updated back in May which added a quick save feature and fixed minor bugs. This title is very polished unlike many of the games flooding the Xbox marketplace currently. Melon Journey is not a shovel ware title and does have substance for those looking for a more relaxed game to pick up and enjoy. If you’re looking for heavy action, that will not be this title. It is low skill based and requires paying attention to text prompts to know where to go. This is a slower paced game, however, it is incredibly cute from the music production to character designs.

Synapse è un gioco che ha davvero tanto da offrire e che non deluderà gli appassionati di realtà virtuale che hanno deciso di investire in un PlayStation VR2. La sua telecinesi è la migliore che si sia mai vista in un videogioco VR e l'uso del sistema di eye tracking per scegliere cosa afferrare e lanciare può essere preso come modello su come sfruttare al meglio le funzioni più avanzate di un hardware. Le armi sono divertenti da sparare e ricaricare, la progressione zoppica all'inizio ma poi decolla e l'accompagnamento musicale ha un che di Synthwave anni '80 che calza a pennello con un gioco quasi cyberpunk in cui vi state infiltrando nella mente di un essere umano combattendo i suoi difensori come in Inception. Lo stile grafico in bianco e nero con pochissime note di colore per evidenziare le cose più importanti, poi, è una manna per evitare il sovraccarico sensoriale e godersi l'esperienza. Poca varietà a parte, questo gioco è un must nelle librerie di ogni possessore di PSVR 2 perché non solo vi farà sentire onnipotenti ma vi metterà davanti a una sfida avvincente da affrontare anche a piccoli morsi di adrenalina pura.

Unholy prova a sperimentare con un sistema di gioco a cavallo tra due dimensioni, che ricorda un po' The Medium. Si rivela però un prodotto un po' grezzo, poco rifinito in molte sezioni di grande importanza. Oltretutto, la storia è un po' sfilacciata, e a volte pare che diversi elementi siano inseriti forzatamente solo perché utili al gameplay e mai davvero al racconto. Per svettare nella marea degli horror troppo uguali a loro stessi, gli auto di Painkiller avrebbero dovuto fare molto più di così.

With the exception of the rich environmental detail to be found in its sinister underworld setting, Unholy otherwise offers precious little to praise. It’s not scary enough to succeed as a horror story, its controls are too clumsy to provide a satisfying stealth experience, and its enemy and puzzle variety are too limited to make any part of the journey feel truly distinct. What begins as an intriguing incursion into a cult-ruled realm soon unravels into a repetitive slog stuck in the shoes of an unlikeable lead character. Unholy is never quite unplayable, but it’s certainly uninspired, unwieldy, and unlikely to hold your interest all the way to its completion.

Armored Lab Force VULVEHICLES is full of fun tanks and destructive action, offering twelve different vehicles, each with their own primary and special weapons to select from. The story is nothing to write home about, but the gameplay is super fun and addictive!

Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes Definitive Edition propose sans doute la version la plus aboutie sans pour autant dénaturer l’excellente expérience originale. La campagne est toujours aussi excellente alors que la jouabilité propose un défi assez relevé même pour les habitués du genre. Le multijoueur de son côté est très équilibré et il encourage les joueurs à monter les échelons. Sur Nintendo Switch c’est presque parfait, même si j’ai été surpris de constater que cette version n’est pas commercialisée sur console de nouvelle génération. Néanmoins, j’espère qu’avec les portages des dernières années et maintenant cette édition définitive qu’Ubisoft (qui détient les droits de la licence) offre la chance à un studio de créer une suite à cette aventure.

En effet, Remnant 2 s’appréciera beaucoup plus en multijoueur que seul. Les possibilités de personnalisation seront démultipliées (trois personnages avec double archétypes, ça commence à faire des choses !) et l’exploration est rendue moins fade puisque chacun s’entraîne d’un endroit à un autre. Les combats de boss sont d’autant plus intéressants à manœuvrer sans pour autant être plus complexes. Autrement, Remnant 2 reste assez linéaire et complexe à apprécier d'autant que certains problèmes non corrigés pour le premier épisode sont de retour. Quelque chose difficile à digérer quatre ans plus tard. Il est donc ardu de se tourner vers Remnant 2 pour une expérience en solo. Toutefois, il montre son plein potentiel en multijoueur à ceux à la recherche de jeux exigeants qui satisferont leur soif de personnalisation.

Remnant II Remnant II è quanto di buono ci si potesse attendere come sequel, di un titolo con ottime potenzialità, quale era Remnant: From the Ashes. Tecnicamente ancora un po' acerbo, eccessivamente ridondante nella realizzazione dei biomi, rappresenta comunque un titolo divertente da giocare, che potrà tenervi incollati e garantirvi un ampio numero di ore di gioco da soli o in compagnia dei vostri amici. Artisticamente ben ispirato, ha senza dubbio nel gameplay il fulcro della produzione. Una curva di difficoltà settata già alta anche al livello più basso, ma pur sempre accessibile e superabile, ed un mondo pieno di pericoli affrontabili con archetipi sempre diversi, dal gameplay e gunplay vari, ma sempre dinamici, adrenalinici ed entusiasmanti. Una complessa risultante di vari generi diversi, tuttavia ben amalgamati, che hanno dato vita ad un titolo originale e ben congeniato.
