Abgesehen von seinem gerade technischen unfertigen Zustand auf der PS5 ist Park Beyond eine launige und vor allem hübsche Park-Simulation. Mit einem äußerst coolen Achterbahn-Feature, das aber kaum Einfluss auf den Aufbau-Aspekt hat. Zusätzliche Mühe wird hier nicht zusätzlich belohnt. Die Kampagne hat ein paar nette Kniffe und Herausforderungen, der Sandkasten-Modus bietet mit 27 Maps viel Freiraum zur Gestaltung. Nicht optionale Nebenquests sind trotzdem ein Unding. Die Tycoon-Tiefe und der Langzeitspielspaß können genauso in Frage gestellt werden.

Per Layers of Fear si può fare un discorso molto simile a quello che fu fatto per i capitoli originali: se vi piacciono i videogiochi horror in cui la parte narrativa è preponderante su tutto il resto, allora lo apprezzerete sicuramente, soprattutto se non amate giocare in un continuo stato di tensione. Oltretutto ci troverete dentro più giochi, per un'esperienza complessiva lunga e articolata, considerando gli standard del genere. Se invece siete alla ricerca di un focus maggiore sul gameplay horror, allora vi conviene guardare da un'altra parte, dato che qui la scelta operata dagli autori è abbastanza netta. Nella sostanza ci troviamo di fronte a un gioco tecnicamente interessante per il semplice fatto di essere il primo a usare l'Unreal Engine 5, narrativamente ottimo, con tre storie diverse legate molto bene tra di loro, ma che può deludere fortemente chi fosse in cerca di un videogioco che la paura non gliela racconti, ma gliela faccia soprattutto vivere.

Layers of Fear Bloober Team riprende in mano il proprio titolo di esordio nel panorama degli horror psicologici con una nuova consapevolezza. Layers of Fear non si limita a riproporre, in una veste tecnica moderna, il titolo originario, bensì tutta la serie (e relativi DLC) in un nuovo contesto narrativo, per un progetto a metà tra remaster e remake. Un pacchetto dunque capace di regalare suggestioni e brividi, pur preservando il gameplay estremamente ridotto delle versioni originali. Proprio questa è la chiave di lettura che vi potrebbe portare ad apprezzare (o meno) la produzione: se amate il brivido psicologico, il progetto saprà conquistarvi. Se, viceversa, apprezzate qualcosa di maggiormente concreto e palpabile (sia ludicamente, sia narrativamente), il titolo potrebbe non centrare il bersaglio. Layers of Fear 2023 stylishly combines Bloober Team’s flagship games into one beautifully terrifying definitive edition. The reimagined and drop dead gorgeous visuals built entirely from the ground up alone are reason enough to revisit these titles, but the added cherries on top are the brand new chapters that wrap all the narratives together. It’s a must play for anyone into psychedelic and psychological horror experiences, but may come off a little underwhelming for anyone looking for something truly scary.

Amnesia The Bunker è un horror crudo e terrificante, che vi metterà alla prova tante volte durante la vostra sopravvivenza all’interno di questo bunker della prima guerra mondiale, in cui dovrete affrontare gli opprimenti orrori che infestano l’oscurità. Un’oscurità che sarà la vostra più acerrima nemica insieme alla creatura che infesta il bunker alla ricerca di Henri Clément. Le aree esplorabili saranno tante e diverse tra loro, spaziando dai dormitori dei soldati a stretti tunnel in cui dovrete cavarvela con le vostre forze e tenendo sempre a mente quanto tempo avrete a disposizione prima che il generatore finisca il carburante. Grazie ad un sistema randomizzato gli oggetti e gli elementi chiavi come i codici saranno sempre diversi e generati automaticamente per rendere ogni partita sempre diversa. Addentrarsi all’interno del bunker è rischioso, grazie anche all’opprimente presenza del mostro che seguirà ogni nostro singolo spostamento. L’ansia crescente dei minuti che passano e la paura che da un momento all’altro la luce possa svanire accresce il terrore di rimanere in balia di una fitta oscurità. Un’oscurità fitta, terrificante e silenziosa, che vi terrorizzerà al pensiero di essere costantemente osservati e ascoltati dal terrificante abominio che infesta le stanze del bunker.

Difficile d’en vouloir à Cassette Beasts pour ses errances techniques tant sa proposition est solide. Son monde ouvert fonctionne bien, son visuel est une franche réussite, sa bande-son flatte les tympans, et ses combats offrent des possibilités stratégiques absolument jubilatoires. Pour moins de 20 euros, le titre de Bytten Studio embarque aussi un contenu très satisfaisant, pour une durée de vie qui n’a rien à envier à la concurrence. N’ayons pas peur des mots, Pokémon a du souci à se faire, car on tient là un sérieux rival, à qui il ne manque qu’un coup de polish pour devenir la nouvelle référence de la capture de monstres. Reste qu’en attendant l’arrivée d’un patch qu’on espère salvateur, mieux vaut éviter la version Nintendo Switch.

Wartales est un jeu de niche dans un genre de niche, et au milieu de cette niche, il y a moi. J'adore ce jeu. Ce titre de Shiro Games est fascinant à bien des égards : un univers inhabituel qui fonctionne très bien, des mécaniques de jeu plutôt solides qui expérimentent de manière convaincante tout en se fixant des limites, une belle écriture... On ne peut s'empêcher d'en vouloir plus, de se dire que tout aurait pu être poussé un peu plus loin. On sent que Shiro Games a encore un milliard d'idées à implémenter. A l'image de la carte dont certains chemins mènent nul part, on sait qu'il reste des territoires inexplorés pour cette nouvelle licence, et cela créé un peu de frustration. Mais Wartales reste un bon jeu, un très bon jeu même si vous êtes amateur du genre, et on espère y retourner bientôt

F1 23 is a far heartier package than F1 22, with 26 tracks, the enjoyable next chapter of the Braking Point story mode that began in F1 2021, and – for players who love to recline back into the couch and race – the best gamepad handling in the series, ever. The racing-focused secondary career mode F1 World is also likely to be a step in the right direction after last year’s F1 Life for some, although it's equally probable its arcade-inspired, loot-based upgrade system will be divisive amongst traditionalists.

F1 23 is a solidly packed racing experience that improves upon its predecessor in almost every way. With a little something for everyone, on top of an immersive and impressive experience on PS5, it's a worthwhile addition to the libraries of enthusiasts and casuals alike. We loved how tailormade the game could become, whether that was a heavily assisted racing experience, or a brutally immersive one. The campaign doesn’t always hit the mark, and F1 World while expansive isn’t exactly revolutionary, but at the very least, it’s nice to see Formula 1 get the same care and attention that many other popular sports games have been receiving for years.
